5 Months Later
Nobody's POV
Sanemi kept living under Kanae's home. Everything that had happened between the 5 months were a secret and not even Kanae's sisters knee about their older one keeping a fugitive. There are moments of suspicion from the kitchen, bathroom, while during the night as well we're strange noise coming from the halls or Kanae's room. Kanae would dodge the suspicion with different excuses she comes up

Saturday (8:30pm)
Kanae was cleaning the dishes after eating dinner while Shinobu watches the news and Kanao was at her room doing her homework. The news was a bout a wanted fugitive from a notorious syndicate still on the lose and the search is still ongoing. Kanae and Sanemi's relationship deepened with still Sanemi being defensive about his past and retaining his rough attitude but he trust Kanae a bit.
(ANOTHER info. Within the past 5 months, Shinobu met Giyu and they are dating)
"Wow, this criminal sure is tricky, hey Nee-san, have you heard about this criminal on the loose?" Shinobu shouted from the living room
"Mhm, apparently it's a hot topic as well at the office. Somehow the board are too serious about this case other than the hospital though" Kanae replied as she finish washing the dishes "Really? Why is that?" Shinobu asked but Kanae waved her head signaling she doesn't know
(10:30pm)
It was bed time already. Shinobu and Kanao are already asleep while Kanae was still awake annoyingly scolding Sanemi while tending to his wounds. Apparently, on his way back from meeting a "friend" he got caught in a fight with some street thugs
"How many times do I have to tell you to not pick random fights!?" Kanae scolded "Tch, it's not like I wanted to?? They started it with their bitchy stares" Sanemi replied but Kanae pressed the cotton slightly hard on his wound making him wince
"Hey! Be gentle, is this how a doctor treats her patients?" Sanemi complained "Excuse you, you're the only stubborn and reckless patient I had" Kanae commented back which made Sanemi roll his eyes
Kanae nimbly tended his wounds while Sanemi was annoyed how a soft-spoken and ordinary women could make him speechless. He looked around until Kanae was done
" *sigh* Alright, they should heal in a week, you're lucky they're just scratches" Kanae said as she fixes the medical supplies "About time, now I can go get some shut eye" Sanemi said as he lies down
Kanae placed the items under her desk and went to lie down on her bed and scroll through her phone. She was scrolling and scrolling and as she did, she saw post from her other friends how they are celebrating their anniversary/monthsary/birthday/ together which made her frown and bitter.
Kanae let out a sigh and kept mumbling as she puts her phone down. Sanemi who couldnt sleep due to his wounds hitting the floor just sat up and read the same book
"You never get tired of reading the same thing?" Kanae asked looking at him "It's better than joining mixers Kanae" Sanemi replied "Hey! I don't attend such events" Kanae pouted "Heh, no wonder you're still single and a virgin"
Kanae blushed hard and at the same time got embarrassed how Sanemi called her out single and virgin which actually true since she's a sucker for romance. Due to her embarrassment, she grabbed a pillow and threw it to Sanemi which smacked him in the head
"JERK!" Kanae shouted as she covers herself with her blanket
Sanemi chuckled a bit on how she reacted "Clicked a nerve, single and virgin" Sanemi mumbled but Kanae heard it
"HEY! DONT LIE, YOU'RE THE SAME AS I AM!!" Kanae revealed herself screaming at Sanemi " You don't know me, I've slept with many" Sanemi lied "Liar, I bet they would run away if they say you!" Kanae bantered but Sanemi ignored her
An hour passed and after bickering, Kanae fell asleep wherein for Sanemi, he was on a phone call with someone
"Are you sure that's where the gathering will happen?" Sanemi reassured
"Of course, I never fail reports, I also found out a potential member of the Upper Rank Gang will be present their"
" Better be true or I will snap your neck"
"Scary as always... The meeting happens at 10pm sharp."
"Got it" Sanemi hung up
