"Well, how were we supposed to know he would have a breakdown?" Mike asked exasperatedly.

The teen had been pacing the room in annoyance for the past five minutes letting his thoughts out into the open for all to hear. Not that there was something else he could have been doing at the moment anyways, they were pretty much back in the waiting stage after Billy's freak-out. Max watched as the other huffed and puffed muttering under his breath with little to no interest, too busy trying not to peek out the window where she knew her step-brother was being talked to by Joyce.

"He just got out of a lab Mike, just about anything can set him off now." She stated back. Mike sighed heavily before sliding down one of the walls beside where El had stationed herself.

"This is bullshit!" He groaned. "So-so what now? we can't talk to him because he doesn't talk, we can't take him to the sauna because he will break down and we still don't know shit about how he survived."

A rumble left Max's throat. "Maybe he just never died idiot, ever thought about that!" She half yelled, her own irritation starting to bleed through into her voice. This was just stupid, this whole situation was stupid.

A hand landed on her shoulder. Max turned to check who it was, coming faced with a cautious-looking Lucas. "That's hard to believe Max. I mean, we all saw him you know." He explained softly, clearly not wanting to become the new target of her annoyance. "It just doesn't make s-"

"Um...I have a suggestion, to uh help him communicate with us." Will interjected from the floor. The three bickering teens turned to him making Will frown slightly as if he was rethinking coming out with that.

Dustin, coming from over the door area plopped himself down by Will, shuffling till he was comfortable before saying "What's your suggestion buddy?"

Will opens his mouth but closes it again, he hesitates before opening his mouth to speak again. "We could give him a notepad and pen. To uh, instead of trying to get him to talk we could get him to write down whatever he's thinking." He explained, voice trailing off towards the end uncertain of himself.

Whether or not he thought it was a good idea, it was. A great idea even. Mike smiled at Will. "That's a great idea, Will" He praised. Will's eyes widened slightly and he turned away, the slight heating of his cheeks causing a red tint to show. "Let's tell the others."

Steve squinted as he glanced out the window, he could just about make out the back of Joyce and Billy sitting on the porch from where he was sitting in the kitchen. Hopper was stationed by the front door looking as bored as he could while trying not to get too pissed off at Dustin's second attempt at getting to the door.

It wasn't going very well.

"So? how do you think that went?" Nancy asked around the table. The question was received with various expressions of blankness.

Robin smiled. "Oh I think it went great," she replied sarcastically. "we're only back to square one."

"Mmm not really, Hargrove's not in my room." Jonathan hummed and pointed out. "Could have gone worse right."

Steve rolled his eyes. "We didn't even get as far as one answer. This is taking longer than I had expected."

Robin snorted and glanced up at him. "Yeah? how so?"

Steve groaned and shot the girl an annoyed look. "Shut up." He drawled out as he let his head hit the table. "This is just-"

"Guys!" A voice called from Steve's left accompanied by the sound of multiple pattering feet. It was Mike's voice, he had called out.
