IV. A confusing first encounter.

Start from the beginning

I don't think I can handle so much adrenaline in such a short time.

After a few more minutes in the forest, they emerged into an area full of hills and slopes, where Haerin could see a huge white building in the distance, at the centre of what she believed to be a small city.

Everything was completely white, every building, the columns, and the decorations of that place. The clouds cleared, and Haerin almost went blind from the light reflecting off the white walls.

They didn't go directly into the city; instead, they skirted around the buildings on the outskirts.

Haerin could make out several teenagers in the area of that large building, some with swords fighting each other, and others landing on the slopes while riding winged horses.

Pegasuses.

The pack of wolves stopped in front of a huge building. It reflected the classical Greek architecture that she remembered seeing in history books and on a few web pages. It was an imposing structure with tall, elegant columns surrounding its main facade, providing a sense of grandeur and solemnity. The main entrance was highlighted by an impressive marble staircase leading inside.

The huntresses began to dismount from the wolves, and she had to be helped by Miyeon and Yuqi due to her inability to do so herself.

She saw how the arrival of the huntresses interested several boys, as they gathered near them, watching from a distance.

Once everyone had dismounted from the wolves, Soyeon seemed to speak to her wolf, which howled and ran off from the place, disappearing back into the forest while the rest of the pack followed.

Just at that moment, the doors of the building opened, and two men came out of it. Well, one man, the other seemed to be one from the waist up, as from there he had a horse's body. The first man was a bit short, chubby, with curly black hair. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and shorts.

The terrible sense of fashion. And that's coming from someone who has been wearing the same worn-out clothes for days.

The other, the half-horse one, had his human part dressed only in a leather vest and had long, curly light brown hair, as well as a prominent beard. His animal part had fur the same color as his mane, which was super shiny as well.

Soyeon stepped forward.

"Chiron, we bring you a new demigoddess."

At that moment, several huntresses pushed her forward, causing Haerin to almost stumble in front of everyone. The half-horse man, whom she assumed was Chiron, smiled at her.

"Welcome."

The other man approached her. "Well, well, welcome to this hell."

"What a grumpy one!" Yuqi's voice reached her.

He simply ignored her.

"Huntresses," he greeted. "Thank you for your services and all that stuff. You can go to Artemis's cabin."

Soyeon rolled her eyes but nodded. "And what about the bronze remains we have?"

"Take them to Hephaestus's cabin."

Chiron spoke, looking disinterestedly at the man and then addressing the huntresses.

"Stay for a few days. I'm sure you're tired. You've come a long way."

Most of the huntresses nodded repeatedly.

"No problem for us, but we need to be back in service within a week at most."

"More than enough time to prepare for Capture the Flag!"

The other man massaged the bridge of his nose. "How I hate that game!"

"Dionysus, don't be like that. Besides, with the huntresses here, the game will be much more fun."

The mentioned ones smiled.

"Alright, alright! Whatever! Let's get this over with quickly because I'm very busy."

Chiron looked at him, shaking his head several times. He turned to the group of girls.

"You can go. Thank you very much for your help."

Soyeon nodded and gestured to all the huntresses to retreat, heading into the camp with the rest of the huntresses.

"And what are you all staring at?" Dionysus shouted. "Get out of here!"

Haerin turned and saw the group of boys from earlier running away from the area.

"Good!" said Chiron. "What's your name, girl?"

She, still a bit dizzy from all the emotions, replied.

"K-Kang Haerin."

He smiled at her while Dionysus seemed impatient.

"Welcome to Camp Odyssey, Haerin."

Chiron and Dionysus seemed like two completely opposite poles, one super kind and with a paternal smile, while the other seemed like he would laugh in your face for being a kid.

"Very well, Henin, come inside, and I'll give you the same speech I've had to give to every camper here," he said wearily.

"My name is not Henin, it's..."

Chiron interrupted her. "It's not worth it."

"Come on, I don't have all day," Dionysus demanded.

Chiron sighed and gestured for her to go inside before him. Haerin thanked him, and the three of them entered the large building.

Hello hello! So these are the first chapters, I hope they reach your standards. Just tell me if there is something strange about it, or if there isn't too many dialogues, the chapters are too long or whatever, I'll keep it in mind

But anyways, just for you to know that words in italics are thoughts of the character narrating, not just a random character hahaha.

I'm so sorry if the first chapters are boring, I have to explain everything slowly, please be patient.
