Adaeze sat on her balcony as she looked out towards the city. She watched as the people of Sesheka got ready for the ceremony that would be held when the Indigo moon was in the sky. Every thirty years, the All Mother Alkebulan would pick another ruler of Arawaneh. For as long Adaeze could remember, it was always a member of Sesheka tribe that sat on the throne. So far, the house of Ngozi was blessed by Alkebulan. " Your father looking for you." Her mother says as she joined her. " I'll be there in a min." She smiled softly looking back her before resuming her sight-seeing of the city. " What wrong? and don't tell me nothing I can sense your energy spiking." Her mother grabbed her face making look at her.

" What if...what if Alkebulan doesn't pick me because of my decision." Adaeze eyes begin to gloss over as guilt wash over her. " Nwa m nwanyị (My Daughter), what you chose was honorable and brought many praises to our family. Why would the all mother punish you for that?" She rubs her back feeling how overwhelmed her daughter was.

" But what if it wasn't honorable.... what if me joining our peoples in arm wasn't what she wanted for me?......I brought shame upon us." Adaeze wiped her face as she walked back into her room. " Where is this all coming from? If I knew for one second that your choice would bring shame upon us, I would've never given you, my blessing." Her mother sighed. " I have your blessing, nna( father) He treats me as just a soldier......like he hates me. Ever since I became general, it gotten worse." Adaeze replies tirelessly as she goes to her lounge area.
