Halfway point...

After the first day, time flew by, and before I knew it, we were already halfway through the year! Grade nine was already halfway gone, and it's so hard to believe!
My friends and I have started to get used to highschool and it's quirks, and so far, it wasn't awful
That was..until one day, of course. When drama started.
I knew to expect drama in some sense when I first started highschool, but this was practically soul shattering.
Recently, I began to notice some people in the friend group were acting strange towards me. Liam, Lola, Annie and Alice were acting quite distant, and it was weird. Especially Liam. Recently, for a few days now, Liam had been acting strange towards me. I had been catching him giving me dirty looks, and he would even straight up give me attitude sometimes. I didn't understand why, of course, because I had done nothing wrong or nothing to upset him, and if I had, he would've talked to me about it....right..?
One day, it started to get really bad. I had gone to get lunch from the cafeteria, and the rest of the friend group was outside, they were playing a new online game that had just recently come out that was all the rage right now, and was extremely popular. I wanted to join them, and I eventually arrived out there and saw all the others were sitting in a group outside, all they're heads in their phones. Some turned to look at me when I came outside, others didn't, because they were so invested in the game. I didn't blame them, the game WAS really fun.
When I got out there though, they had already started a game without me. I didn't mind it too much, though I was a little hurt that they didn't wait,  so I logged onto the game to play a round by  myself while I waited for them to finish.
That's when Liam looked at me, his dark, mean looking eyes staring into my soul. "Uh, hi..?" He said with a monotone voice, staring at me with no expression. I brushed it off, and smiled at him. "Hey" I replied, a little awkward since he was acting weird. Liam didn't take his eyes off of me. "What're you doing?" He asked, giving me a slight weird look. "Just playing the game.." I said, now getting a little worried. Liam rolled his eyes and shifted away from me a little. "Okay, just don't steal all the internet and ruin it for the rest of us." He suddenly snapped. My heart dropped and I felt a stabbing pain in my stomach. Why had he suddenly spoken like that towards me? What did I do to make him so upset?
I simply nodded, looking away from him. He rolled his eyes once again and went back to talking normally towards the rest of the friend group, and I felt my heart sink. In that moment, I didn't feel wanted, I felt like he, or anyone else, didn't want me there, so I quickly grabbed my stuff, and left, going through the doors and going back inside. As I was leaving, I hear Liam mutter in a snarky tone "bye I guess."
I ignore him and quickly run back inside, going to one of the bathroom stalls in the nearest bathroom. I set my stuff down and blinked back some tears that were coming to my eyes. Why was he acting like such a bitch towards me? What had I done wrong? I spent the rest of the lunch time alone, and at the end of the day, went to class as normal, trying to act like I didn't basically just get shunned away by someone who I thought was a close friend. I had hoped and prayed to myself that things would be better as time went by.

But no. It only got worse.
