summary: You and Joe bring your newborn baby girl home from the hospital
warnings: mentions of childbirth and pregnancy, breastfeeding, tooth rotting fluff and dilf joe ;)
...
"Ready to go, mama?" Joe asked, walking out of the hospital bathroom and coming up behind you, gently wrapping his arms around your body as you finish packing up your hospital bag.
You smiled as you felt him press himself against your back. You turned around in his arms, smiling up at your husband, whose ice blue eyes were full of love and adoration as he looked at you.
"Ready when you are."
He unwrapped his arms from you, giving you some space to finish packing as he got the car seat ready.
Two days ago, you gave birth to the most beautiful little girl you've ever laid your eyes on.
Josie Lee Burrow.
Josie was born a few weeks early, coming just days before the AFC championship. You and Joe both joked that she just couldn't wait until next season to see her daddy play in arguably the most important game of the season. You and Josie would be watching from home, of course, since she was a newborn. But that wouldn't stop the two of you from rooting for the most important man in your lives and his teammates.
Josie already looks so much like Joe—which makes sense. After all, she is named after him. She has little wisps of his dark blonde hair and her eyes match Joes perfectly. She even has the same lips as him.
Your daughter is only a couple days old and she already has Joe wrapped around her tiny finger. And boy does it melt your heart seeing the two of them together.
Every night you've been in the hospital, Joe has laid on the couch next to your bed with Josie on his bare chest. He hasn't gotten much sleep, he cared more about making sure his daughter was safe and sound on his chest than how many hours of sleep he got.
The first night after Josie was born, you were absolutely exhausted. Childbirth is a beautiful thing, but after twelve hours of labor and a half hour of pushing, your body had had enough.
As you tried to get some sleep in your hospital bed, Joe was walking around the hospital room with no shirt on, cradling Josie securely against his bare chest. He insisted on doing skin to skin with her for as long as he possibly could. He loved being able to bond with the baby girl he's been feeling around and talking to in your belly for the past nine months.
As Joe held Josie, he talked to her in the sweetest and softest tone you've ever heard from him. He told her all about the past nine months and how excited he was when he found out he was having a daughter or how every time he felt her kick he swore his heart grew bigger. He told her all about her uncles (which are his teammates) and how they couldn't wait to meet her. And he always finished with telling her how much he loves her and you, referring to the two of you as his girls.
Every interaction between Joe and sweet little Josie has made your heart swell and your eyes teary. The two of you just love that little bundle of joy so, so much.
As you finished packing up yours and Joe's hospital bags, Joe put Josie in her car seat. He cooed at her as he gently buckled her in, careful not to pinch her delicate skin. Once she was buckled in, Joe grabbed the car seat and his dufflebag, slinging it over his other shoulder.
"You ready to take her home?" he asked, smiling down at the sleeping baby. You nodded, leaning down to stroke her soft cheek, "I'm so ready."
Joe took his gaze away from Josie and looked at you, smiling down at you. You got on your tip toes and planted a sweet, yet passionate kiss to his soft pink lips. He pulled away, smirking as he saw the blush on your face. You've been with Joe since his early days at LSU and he still makes you blush and gives you butterflies just like he did when you first laid eyes on him.
