Chapter Au: Centuries Of Light (3)

Start from the beginning

You got up and your mother picked an outfit for you. As you got dressed, she made sure everything was pack. It was all happening so fast. Maybe you still needed wake up.

"Looks like we have everything. Are you ready to go?" You mother had some buyers and maids carry your things to a carriage.

"CanI have breakfast first?" you yawned.

Your mother paused for a moment.
"You want food?"

'Yes, mother. The thing I need to survive' you groaned in your mind. She was starting to get on your nerves, more than usual. You knew that if you spoke your inner thoughts, you would most likely be punished.

Punishments from your mother were far worse than your father's. Your father simply made you give him an essay about what you did wrong, how to correct your behavior, and a "heart felt" apology. Your mother on the other hand...

"I suppose you can have some breakfast, but you better be quick about it. I want you at the front in no less than an hour!" She finally answered.

Your mother left your room, ordering servants around like a mad woman.

Sighing into your hands, you sat down on your messy bed. You still had to clean it. She was in such a hurry to get you going. No more threats, no more rules, no "have fun. Behave. If you have any troubles, we are here for you". It felt as if she wanted to get rid of you. But that's just how she was. All she thought about was business. She would even use her child as leverage, just for a few connections.

As you made your bed, you wondered if that's why they had a child, why they had you. To have them bring wealth into the family. Or, in this case, sell them off.
It was messed up, but it was your life.

An hour had passed, you finished making your bed, packing the rest of your things, and you finished eating. You had mixed emotions as you left your front door. Freedom was ahead of you, the opportunity in the most unlikely way possible.

You looked around for your mother, she said she would be waiting for you in the front. But all that was there was your ride and a maid.

"Uhm... Excuse me, miss?" You called out to the maid.
She glanced up at you.
"Do you happen to know where my mother is? She said she would be here"

"Mistress is in a meeting, along with a few others. She told me to make sure you got here in time" she answered. The maid then walked off, the front door creaking loudly as she closed it. A shaky and peaceful goodbye from your house.

You grumbled. Your mother was so busy with work she couldn't even says goodbye. You felt angry, but this didn't surprise you. You were angry at yourself for believing - for wanting her to care enough to show, but somewhere in your heart you knew she wouldn't show. This was the last time you would see her for God knows how long, and all she cared about was some stupid meeting? Despite all this, it was fine with you.

It made that much easier to leave.

You got onto the carriage and you were soon off. Your heart began to race and so did your thoughts. You began wondering what it would be like to be away from the strict rules, to feel free, to see Sun and Moon again, to-

You paused from your thoughts.

Sun and Moon

You remembered the night if the event, the things you did, the feelings your felt. Then, the memory of leaving the event all sad and disappointed took over your fond memories.
You hid your face in your hands, sighing deeply. How could you be so stupid? You left the party with the two giving you the cold shoulder, the both of them. You clearly did something wrong, but what? Were they upset you pursued them both? You wanted to let it go, to ignore these feelings. You had been so caught up in leaving you didn't consider how they felt. The urge to push them away crept in, but you fought against it.
