I sat in a chair at the police station. I  was reading the book I've been reading the past few days and I felt like someone was staring at me. I look up and saw a lady who looked like she been there for hours was the one staring at me. I couldn't figure out why she was staring at me then I realized I'm still in my pajamas. Shit.

I walked  mortified to the restroom and changed into the first pair of jeans and a tee shirt I could find in one of my bags. Luckily, it was my light wash jeans and black and white striped tee shirt.

I looked at myself in the mirror. The words slipped out before I could even check if anyone is around.

"I look like shit!' I said to the zombie in my reflection. I started to comb my hair with my fingers when I hear someone beside me.

"You don't look like shit. You look like me after a hard nights work." Says a female voice I've never heard before. I guessed she was a hooker by the skin tight leopard dress and sky high heels. Her makeup was caked on and her hair looked she just had sex. Probably did too.

I never seen a prostitute before. Well on tv but they were either actors or had their faces bleered. Her hair was dirty blond and pretty green eyes. I guess she could have been a model if things worked out for her. She is tall enough to be; she was an amazon compared to me.

"Did your momma ever tell you it's impolite to stare?" She said looking at my reflection in the mirror. Staring at her reflection. "Sorry" I whispered. Sometimes I swear I need to stop thinking so I can't stare at people.

"She died when I was a baby. " I whispered to her. I guess she didn't hear me as she began to put in more lipstick.

I left the restroom and sat back down un the same chair. Feeling better that I wasn't still in those hipster glasses pjs. I picked up To Kill A Mockingbird. One of my favorite books somehow I never get to finish it though.

I only got to chapter six when Officer Daniels came to me with a couple of dollars in his hand. "Miss Grey, would you like something to eat." He says nicely. I looked up I never noticed how blue his eyes were until now. "Umm okay." I said as I got up.

My legs felt a bit like jelo when I tried to walk to the vending machines. It's been about two and a half hours since I left the restroom where that hooker was.

It was only me and Officer Daniels in the break room which made me nervous. I don't really understand why. Maybe because I was in a small room with a grown man.  I don't know. I just really didn't like this situation.

I hope I don't have to say anything. I dont like talking to people. I can do it sometimes when my dad or Dylan are around or at home. This break room and this man were unknown territory.

"I know its not my place, but I don't like that little boyfriend of yours." Officer Daniels says as he grabs a bag of chips. He gives me four dollars. "Buy whatever you like, sweetie." I get some water and a chocolate bar. I couldn't help myself I love chocolate.

"What don't you like about Dylan?" I finally got the courage to ask as I looked staright at vending machine thinking about whether to some cookies or a bag of chips.

"He doesn't seem like a good kid. But you seem like a good kid. I don't want you to end up in some kind of trouble with him. Did you see that hooker out there."

I nodded. That's enough speaking for now. "She had all As in school. She got a boyfriend who made her drop out of school and become his bitch. Excuse my French." I turned to him he looked very serious at what he was telling me. "Now she lives in the streets and one of her clients was found dead in a hotel room from heroin overdose. We think she knows who killed him because she wasn't the only one there that night. But she won't say who the other person is."
