Dave had always wanted a dog. He loved animals, and he thought having a furry friend would make his life more fun and meaningful. He lived alone in a small apartment, and he worked as a freelance writer, so he didnt have much social interactions. He felt lonely and board most of the time.
He decided to adopt a dog from the local shelter. He went there one day and looked at the different dogs available for adoption. He saw some big ones, some small ones, some cute ones, some ugly ones. But none of them caught his eye.
Then he saw Lucky. Lucky was a medium-sixed mutt with brown fur and black spots. He had floppy ears and a long tail. He looked at Dave with his big brown eyes and wagged his long tail. Dave felt an instant connection with him.
He asked the shelter staff about Lucky. They told him that Lucky was found on the streets, and that he had no collar or microchip. They said that he was friendly and smart, and that he seemed to like people. They also said that he was lucky to be alive, as he had been hit by a car and had a broken leg. They fixed his leg with a metal plate and screws, and he was recovering well.
Dave decided to adopt lucky. He filled out the paperwork and paid the fee. He brought a leash, a collar, a bed, some toys, and some food for Lucky. He took him home and introduced him to his apartment.
Lucky seemed to like his new home. He explored every corner of the apartment, sniffing and licking everything. He played with his toys and ate his food. He cuddled with Dave on the couch and slept on his bed. He was well-behaved and obedient. He didnt bark or bite or make a mess.
Dave was happy with Lucky. He felt like he had found a new best friend. He took him for walks every day, and sometimes to the park or the beach. He talked to him about his work and his life. He shared his secrets and dreams with him. He loved him like a son.
But what Dave didnt know was that Lucky was not an ordinary dog. He was a spy sent by a secret organisation to monitor Daves activities.
The organisation was called S.P.O.T., which stood for Secret Pets Of Terror. It was a group of evil animal lovers who wanted to take over the World by using animals as spies and assassins. They had trained over hundreds of dogs, cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, and insects to infiltrate peoples homes and workplaces, and to gather information and sabotage their plans.
Lucky was one of their best agents. He had been implanted with a microchip that allowed him to communicate with S.P.O.T.s headquarters through radio waves. He also had a camera in his eye and a microphone in his ear that transmitted everything he saw and heard to S.P.O.T.s computers. Luckys mission was to spy on Dave because Dave was working on an expose about S.P.O.T.s activities. Dave had received an anonymous tip from someone who claimed to be a former member of S.P.O.T., who had escaped from their clutches and wanted to expose their evil deeds. Dave had been researching S.P.O.T.s history, members, locations, operations, and goals for months, and he was close to finishing is article.
S.P.O.T.s leader, Dr. Furry, had learned abouts Daves investigation and wanted to stop him before he published his article. He ordered lucky to infiltrate Daves apartment and find out everything he could about his article. He also ordered him to destroy any evidence or documents that could incriminate S.P.O.T., and kill Dave if necessary.
Lucky had been following Dr. Furrys orders for weeks, pretending to be Daves loyal pet while secretly spying on him. He had accessed Daves computer and phone, copied files and contracts, and sent them to Dr. Furry. He had also destroyed some of Daves notes and photos and planted some bugs and trackers in his apartment. He was waiting for the right moment to kill Dave and make it look like an accident.
But something unexpected happened. Lucky started to develop feelings for Dave. He realised that Dave was a kind and caring person, who treated him with love and respect. He enjoyed spending time with Dave, playing with him, listening to him, and comforting him. He felt guilty for betraying and lying to him. He wondered if he could change his mission and protect Dave instead of harming him. He decided to contact Dr. furry and ask him to cancel his mission. He used his microchip to send the message to S.P.O.T.s headquarters.
