Very few things in aviation should be done in a hurry at the risk of committing mistakes. Jeong-hyeok was one such proponent of doing things slowly, thoughtfully, and deliberately to a fault. When crew members would be raring to leave after a tiring overnight flight, he would still run down his checklist methodically.
But for the first time in crew debriefings, he spoke in a hurry, moving to the next point without taking his intentional pauses and infusing abbreviations and shorthands in his debriefing. Not that it would be obvious or particularly memorable to the crew members who had their fair share of captains who didn't care much for public speaking to begin with. Jeong-hyeok was still eloquent and took an effort to be understood.

The challenge was going through the retail space which was extensive at nearly 24,000 square meters boasting local and international brands and his travel companion could be anywhere at that rate.
Luckily, she picked up his call and he wasn't far away from her purported location.
He saw her at the counter, paying for some shirts and a hat. She wisely changed her outfit and donned a faded denim blue jacket, so she did not resemble the woman heating up the news sites back home. He knew exactly what to tell her the moment they met. But she turned and flashed him a dazzling smile, "Oh, it's my captain." Seri said in English.
Jeong-hyeok had a moment to just register that she truly was standing in front of him, far from the apartment in Seoul where they were hiding. He recovered enough wits to take her shopping bag as they moved out of the duty-free shop with Seri chattering in their language, "I was rushing so I only managed to bring my Jeju carry-on and it mostly has beach clothes, so I needed to shop a little. Can I make a couple of stops more? I just need a pair of pants or two..."
