charlotte sat in silence as gracie cried into the steering wheel for what felt like forever. she listened to her sobbing and the rain splattering against the car, too drowsy to do anything else, given that she took like three pills today. jude thankfully knew his sister would likely be too off to have a proper conversation, so he sent a text to gracie explaining everything from his point of view, which gracie read the second he sent it.
gracie wiped her tears and threw her head back with a sigh, then looked over to charlotte and brushed her thumb across her tear stained cheek, "definitely not the night i was expecting."
charlotte hummed and nodded her head.
so far, gracie's parents have called her about nineteen times, so it was no surprise when they called for the twentieth. but gracie's just declined it again, just like how she's been declining all the calls on charlottes phone for her whenever her phone started to ring. eventually, they heard to paparazzi around the corner go away so gracie started her car and gripped the wheel, but she didn't start driving.
"we can't go to my house, my parents might show up."
"pass me your phone," charlotte mumbled. she tapped open google maps on gracie's phone and put in the directions to get to sadie's house from here. "sadie will let us stay the night."
