Welcome to The Syfire's Seduction! This will be a prequel to the yet-to-be-published novel, Curse of the Syfire. It is intended to be an anthology as well, made of the expanded versions of my entries in the Fantasmical Prompt Contest.
This book actually started out from the Fantasmical Prompt Contest here on Wattpad in June 2023. I had an idea for a book for the main character and decided to use her for the contest. As I wrote the responses, I realized they would form a perfect prequel for what will be expanded upon in COTS.
So let's get started!
After the sinking of the Titanic, Mary (Sophia) de la Reue swore that she'd never love again. However, when she receives a second chance at life as an Aquarid, a type of Mer created when one sacrifices themselves to the waves, she's not so sure that's possible. Everywhere she goes, she sees him. Thomas. And every time, it turns out the same way. He's a Syfire, the sworn enemy to the Aquarids. But still, someone desires for them to be together—permanently—and won't stop until they succeed.
One night while living in the Elemental Realm, Sophia encounters Andromeda, a witch who entices Sophia in an alluring dance of seduction and promises. She promises to let Sophia be with her one true love once and for all, but only if she joins the Syfires. Now living under various aliases throughout the five realms, Sophia must navigate life on the run with her Mer coven, hoping she can find a way to finally be with Thomas. In a race against time itself, Sophia faces hard choices and tests to her loyalty in more ways than she could ever imagine.

Please note, this story will be told as a mini anthology of short stories. Each story is connected to the next story but will act more as "episodes" rather than "chapters" that connect to each other to form the storyline we'll follow. It will take place across several realms and span several decades using portaled time jumps.
Following The Syfire's Seduction will be Curse of the Syfire which will be told in regular novel fashion, as it aims to expand the prequel with one solid storyline.
