Wei Ying sat there, trembling, overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. The truth had been laid bare before him, and he couldn't deny the pain and longing in Lan Zhan's eyes. He had kept his distance all these years, trying to protect himself and his children from further heartbreak. But now, faced with Lan Zhan's plea, he couldn't help but waver.

His mind raced with memories of their past, the love they shared, and the subsequent pain. Wei Ying knew that deep down, he still loved Lan Zhan, despite everything. And perhaps, Lan Zhan was right. Maybe it was time to confront the truth, to give their children the chance to know their other father and have a complete family.

Slowly, Wei Ying raised his head, meeting Lan Zhan's gaze. His voice was barely above a whisper, filled with a mixture of vulnerability and hesitation. "Lan Zhan, I... I don't know if I can trust you again. But I also don't want to deny our children the chance to have a father in their lives. They deserve to know the truth, and they deserve a complete family."

Tears still streaming down his face, Wei Ying continued, "I can't promise that everything will go back to the way it was, but... maybe we can start anew. Maybe we can try to rebuild what was broken, not just for our sake but for our children's sake too."

Lan Zhan's eyes filled with a flicker of hope, and he tightened his grip on Wei Ying. "Thank you, Wei Ying. I understand if it will take time, and I'm willing to wait for you. Just please, give us a chance. Give me a chance to be the father they deserve, and to love you the way you deserve to be loved."

Wei Ying let out a shaky breath and nodded, the weight of the decision heavy on his shoulders. "Okay, Lan Zhan. We'll take it one step at a time. I can't promise that it'll be easy, but I'm willing to try."

Lan Zhan's face lit up with a mix of relief and joy. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss on Wei Ying's forehead. "Thank you, Wei Ying. I won't let you down again. We'll take it slow, and I'll do everything I can to make amends."

As they sat there, holding each other tightly, a glimmer of hope began to emerge from the depths of their hearts. The path ahead was uncertain, but with love and determination, they were ready to embark on the journey of healing, forgiveness, and rebuilding their family.

The days that followed were a delicate dance of emotions and healing. Lan Zhan was determined to make amends for his past mistakes and earn back Wei Ying's trust. He understood that it wouldn't be an easy journey, but he was prepared to put in the effort and prove his love and dedication.

One evening, as the sun began to set, Lan Zhan found Wei Ying sitting on the porch, watching their children play in the garden. Taking a deep breath, he approached him, hoping to start a conversation.

"Wei Ying," Lan Zhan began softly, "I've been thinking a lot about our past and what I've put you through. I want you to know that I am committed to making things right and being the father and partner you deserve."

Wei Ying glanced at Lan Zhan, his expression a mix of guardedness and curiosity. "Lan Zhan, I appreciate your words, but actions speak louder than words. What do you plan to do?"

Lan Zhan took a seat beside him, his gaze fixed on their children. "Firstly, I want to be more involved in their lives. I want to spend time with them, get to know them, and show them that I am here for them."

Wei Ying nodded slowly, considering his words. "They are still quite young, Lan Zhan. They might not understand everything that's happening. But if you're willing to put in the effort, I won't stand in the way of their relationship with you."

Lan Zhan's heart warmed at Wei Ying's tentative acceptance. He knew it would take time to rebuild the bond, but he was determined to be patient. "Thank you, Wei Ying. I also want to address the concerns you had about being hurt again. I will work on rebuilding your trust in me."

Wei Ying's eyes flickered with a mix of hope and doubt. "Trust is not something that can be easily repaired, Lan Zhan. It was shattered once before."

Lan Zhan reached out, gently taking Wei Ying's hand in his. "I understand. But I will do everything in my power to earn your trust again, Wei Ying. I will be transparent, open, and honest with you. I will prove to you through my actions that I am committed to you and our family."

Wei Ying's grip on Lan Zhan's hand tightened slightly, and he met his gaze. "I want to believe you, Lan Zhan. I want to believe that you've changed, that you won't hurt us again."

"I won't let you down, Wei Ying. I promise," Lan Zhan replied, his voice filled with sincerity.

Over the following weeks, Lan Zhan stayed true to his word. He spent quality time with their children, engaging in playful activities and taking an active role in their upbringing. He made an effort to be present and supportive, earning smiles and laughter from their little ones.

As for Wei Ying, he cautiously observed Lan Zhan's interactions with their children. He noticed the tenderness and care that Lan Zhan showed, and he couldn't deny the joy it brought to their sons. Slowly, Wei Ying started to let his guard down, allowing Lan Zhan back into their lives.

One evening, as they put their children to bed, Lan Zhan and Wei Ying found themselves alone in their bedroom. The atmosphere was filled with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Lan Zhan took a deep breath and spoke from his heart.

"Wei Ying, I know it will take time for you to fully trust me again. But I want you to know that my love for you has never wavered. I want to be the partner you deserve, to love and support you through everything."
