"YOU DID WHAT!?!?" I exploded, looking at him and realizing just how high up we were. I then began panicking. "Oh, my God. Oh, my God."

"Woah, are you okay?" He asked, touching my shoulder.

"NO! I NEED TO GET OFF THIS THING!" My heart hammered on overload.

"Are you afraid of heights?"

I clutched my chest, concentrating on my breathing. "I'm dead."

SCREECH!! The ferris wheel came to a halt and the chair swung a little. I suddenly hugged Kyle, burying my face in his shirt. It smelled like man cologne and mouth wash.

He patted my back and hugged me back. "You're okay."

"Ugh..." I moaned. I felt like crap, my head spun. Heights sucked. "Get this thing moving."

Then the ferris wheel groaned and began moving once more. I released my grip on Kyle's t-shirt and basically ran off the ferris wheel when it stopped on us.

Kyle followed me to a bench and as soon as he sat down, I turned and socked him in the face. He looked shocked and then that turned into a glare, "What the hell was that for!?"

"Not asking if I was deathly afraid of heights!" Then I left and stormed toward his car.

I reached for the handle and struggled to get it open, yanking with both hands. "I locked the door, that's why it won't open." Kyle muttered behind me. I turned and looked at him. His face was swollen and his eye was shadowed with purple.

"Really, genius?" I growled.

He rolled his eyes and took out his keys, unlocking the door. I slid into the passenger seat, crossing my arms over my chest, and turning my back on him like a child. I heard him sigh and put the keys into the ignition.

Chug. Chug. Chug. Pfft.

"Come on! What's wrong now!?" Kyle shouted, hitting his steering wheel.

I leaned over into his personal space, examining the dials, whilst ignoring his sudden intake of breath. "You're outta gas, Sherlock."

"What!? I filled it up this morning!"

"Well, what did you do all day before taking me out?"

He sat back, scowling as he thought. "I took my brother to the skate park with his friends. I ran some errands for my mom. Uh..... I took my sister downtown to go shopping. Then I went to HairCuts in the mall to get a trim."

"That'll do it. Guess we're walking!" I clapped and crawled out of his car. I fixed my shirt, straightened my glasses, hitched up my jeans, and started walking. Kyle followed, groaning about leaving his, and I quote, little darling.

I looked over at him, like, "Dude? Really?"

"What!?" He yelped, alarmed by my look. "Is there something on my face?!"

I took that opportunity for the perfect saying. "Yes. It's big and ugly with gray eyes."

He scoffed, "Yeah, well yours isn't so dandy either."

I tossed my hair over my shoulder, "Your just jealous because I'm prettier."

He suddenly stopped and flexed, "I'm pretty sure I beat any of you suckers any day."

"Well, you do have the perfect hair."

"Aww, who's jealous now?" He teased.

I shrugged and ran a hand through my hair, "I am jealous. My thick locks could never achieve such flowingness."

"Flowingness? Is that even a word?"

"Is now." I shrugged and started walking again. We walked in silence for ten minutes when I suddenly tripped over my own foot and landed in a moldy taco.... or something that looked like a taco.

"Ew! Oh, God! You got to be kidding me!" I scrambled to my feet and waved my taco-fied hands in the air. "It SMELLS!"

Kyle turned red and covered his mouth with his hand, containing a loud laugh. That didn't work and he suddenly doubled over, cackling.

"Ew Ew Ew Ew Ew Ew!" I cried, wiping my hands on the trunks of trees. "CAN THIS GET ANY-"

"DON'T SAY IT!" Kyle yelped.

"Worse..." I finished. Who knew Kyle was so superstitious. Then, because either I had worse luck than I thought, or I just ignored the weather, it started pouring.

"Finley! You had to say it! You, of all people, should know that whenever you say that, it starts raining."

"I didn't check the weather report. It was just coincidence."

Kyle dug his iPhone out of his pocket, turned it on, and shoved it in my face. "It said clear skies."

I pursed my lips, "Your weather app sucks." Then I stared at his phone, "YOU HAD A PHONE THIS ENTIRE TIME!?!?!?!"

"Uh.... yeah?" He said. I reached over and snatched it and he gasped, "You're getting taco all over my phone!"

"Deal with it!" I began typing in Gisele's number. Then a large semi drove by, hitting a puddle, and spraying me in grossness. "No!" I screamed when the phone turned off.

Kyle saw the whole thing and fell to his knees, "My phone!!!"

You know what. I think I collected everyone's bad luck. I thought and handed him back the fritzing technology. He whimpered and I looked at my hands. The water had gotten off most of the taco.

"Sorry, pal. You got one more date of this." I smiled and started walking again. Beep! I looked up to see a familiar red Ferrari pulling over beside us.

"Omg! Finley? Kyle?"

I rolled my eyes, "Hey, Allison."

"Why are you outside in the rain? That seems like a bad idea." She smiled, flashing her perfectly white teeth. "Get in!" She pulled open the passenger side, reveling a large quantity of pink Victoria Secret bags. "Um, I'm sorry. The lovebirds will have to sit in the back."

So we became very close in the back seat of her Ferrari. My right leg touched Kyle's, my hand was resting on his thigh. Turns out, Allison had like twenty more bags in the back. Kyle wrapped one arm around my waist, making it slightly more roomy.

"So," he cleared his throat, looking at me. "Did you enjoy your night?"

"Besides the rain, the heights, and the taco? Yeah, it was okay." I shifted uncomfortably.

He nodded, "Understood."

We sat in silence for a while and then Kyle looked at me. "You never told me why you ran out.... after the kiss."

"I don't want to talk about it, Kyle." I said, forcing the memories to stay at bay.

Allison went over a bump and I was knocked forward. I caught myself by putting a hand on his chest. He ended up inches from my face, his breath stirring my hair. Then he started leaning forward, angling his lips...

"Here's your house, Fin!" I jumped away from Kyle, blushing. He was actually considering kissing me! The nerve!

"Thanks, Allison!" I climbed out quickly, my hair brushing against Kyle's face. Once I was on my lawn, I waved once, and raced inside. I mumbled a hi to my mom, dad, and sisters before racing to the bathroom and into the shower.
