Thursday and Friday went by fast and suddenly, Kyle was standing in my living room, talking to my sisters. I dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, discarding my hoodie because he said I wouldn't need it.
"There you are!" He laughed and draped an arm over my shoulders. I glared and he let me go. "Let's go!"
I looked at Carol miserably and she frowned, "Sorry." She mouthed and Kyle led me to his car.
I watched the sun set and twilight cover the county. Kyle suddenly looked at me, "You look like your about to either kill me or kiss me."
"That blank expression on my face is about killing you. You'd be lucky if I kissed you." I huffed and leaned my head on the window. He had one of the cars I hated. A white Charger, with racing strips. The exhaust was obnoxiously loud and I could barely hear the moron talking to me.
"You kissed me once," he said.
"Someone spiked the drinks!" I protested. "Is that why you're dragging me out here? Revenge?"
He frowned, "No."
"Then why!?"
He sighed and was about to answer when a huge ferris wheel came only view. "No..." I hissed.
He looked hopeful as he parked, "You like it? They're only in town this weekend!"
I growled at him before storming up to the ticket booth. A guy in a tux was about to take my money when Kyle shoved me aside and paid for our tickets.
"I have money." I said as we entered.
"I know, but it's a date. Guys are supposed to buy everything." Kyle smiled and led me to a booth. He paid for three balls to knock over the bowling pins.
I watched as he took the first ball, his muscles coiled and he sent it flying. It knocked over all the pins in the first batch. "Let me try." I said, ideas forming in my head.
Aiming carefully, I threw my ball and watched it miss entirely, as planned, and rebound off the wall to come flying toward Kyle. It hit him right in the face, and, because I have the best luck, it rebounded off him and hit me in the shoulder.
"Ow!" Kyle yelped and rubbed his red nose.
I smiled, "Oops." Even the booth guy laughed.
We went from booth to booth, at one point he bought me blue cotton candy, and made me share. "So," I asked as the candy melted on my tongue. "Should I prepare to be ambushed by hormonal cheerleaders any minute now?"
"Ha ha. No, I never told anyone but my mom where I was going." Kyle said, stealing half my treat.
"Hey!" I protested, pulling it out of his reach. "Quit stealing all my stuff."
"That I bought. Half is mine," He reached out to get more.
"You just swallowed your half," I laughed.
"Fine, but we're going on the ending of this date as soon as your done." He crossed his arms over his chest and sat back, watching me finish.
I finished and he grabbed my hand, dragging me to the ferris wheel. I gulped, "Kyle... I- I don't think...."
"You have to." He climbed into a chair and dragged me in beside him. The guy handling the controls nodded at us and fired the huge contraption up. "Hey," he said as we rose. "Guess what?"
"What?" I asked, refusing to look at him or anything but the sky.
"I paid the guy to stop when we get to the top."
