The buzz of the city was as loud as the ringing in her ears. Foreign language, laughs, intense chatter mixed with the intense neon lights, random tones of music dancing through the steamy night air, crowds of people filling the busy streets everywhere.
What a night. It over exceeded all her expectations, not that she really knew what to expect to be honest.
This was one of those things you do a few times in your life. One of those things that is the result of extensive stress, ridiculous over thinking, constant over achieving and too much time spent on others happiness. Those things that quietly build up that raging steam that just needs to erupt somehow before you do something really dumb that actually might hurt someone.
One day she finally had enough and thought fuck it! Just fuck it, seriously.
What else is a girl to do on her 30th birthday if not something for herself. Fuck the other people and their expectations of a great party, they get something out of her on a daily basis. That should be enough for them. That was her conclusion on one of those days when everyone and everything caused extensive annoyment.
What she really wanted was to do something for herself, by herself. That something just happened to be Tokyo and the Suga/Agust D show.
So what if people raised their eyebrows in surprisement, thought it was an insane idea. Fly halfway around the world for a concert was not something reasonable people do, but isn't being reasonable 99% of the time enough? Can't there just be this one unreasonable thing just for her, because she wants to?
Besides, what harm is there in going to a concert? People do it all the time, maybe just not halfway across the world. You sing, dance, enjoy and go home. Harmless enough. There are worse things in the world.
Once she made up her mind, that was the way this was going to go.
So here she was now not regretting one second of it on a random street in Tokyo in the evening breeze. The base was still as loud in her head as her heartbeats, her ears ringing from the wonderful rush of loud live music and thousands of people screaming, cheering, shouting. Her hair messy from the dancing and the sweat.
It was everything she ever dreamed of and the sense of contentment was filling her. What she looked forward to most now was her hotel bed and a late night snack, a good nights refreshing sleep before her evening flight home the next day. That's really all she needed. Most people were on their way out to clubs and bars at the moment, but that was never her thing.
She walked in through the sliding doors of her hotel and gracefully made her way with long strides towards the elevator picking up her phone from her bag simultaneously and scrolling through her messages. She hummed at her favourite song from the concert unconsciously. The elevator doors opened with a soft pling and her eyes shifted from her phone to the space inside the elevator. It seemed pretty crowded but her eyes fell on him.
No...I'm imagining things surely, it can't be him, why would it be, she thought to herself, quickly looking away not to stare at him uncomfortably.
She hesitated to step inside until a voice told her to get in. She obeyed quietly, nodding slightly, turning her back to face the doors.
She smiled to herself when the doors closed. One night at a concert with him and she was imagining him in a hotel elevator, her hotel elevator of all the hotels in a humongous city like Tokyo. Enough fantasising and dreaming for now, delusion was not a great place to be although she enjoyed her occasional trip to delulu town.
Curiosity was killing her though, she wanted desperately to just turn around and have a look at who ever had her head making up stories.
Silent voices were chattering in the background. Japanese didn't sound anything like Korean, and that was definitely not Japanese, that much she knew. Her heart dropped to her stomach, and her breaths got real shallow. Maybe it was just a coincidence, there must be millions of Korean people in Tokyo.
