UNLESS [Onceler X Reader]

Oncelers eyes was still closed, but he spoke in a soft whisper

Onceler: Stay... please...

You were a little startled, but with a mixture of suprise, confusion, and a large amount of unneeded curiosity

Onceler lifts the blanket as he pulls you closer in his embrace, enveloping the both of you under the covers of the bed

You were uncertain yet captivated by his raw display. You didn't know how to describe this profound feeling

There was a tension, an unspoken tension between the 2 of you as your bodies were pressed together

It was like time froze. Not in the way the white void was, but...

In a way that there was nothing else that existed between you and him in this moment

You felt your breath speeding up, and your face rising in temperature

It was all so overwhelming. You have never experienced a feeling like this ever. And you couldn't come up with the words to describe it

Was an immortal supposed to feel this way?

Your eyes widened

You couldn't, under any circumstances, be feeling these such things for a mortal

You focused those feelings out of your mind

You look back to the Onceler, who's eyes were still closed

You then hear something ruffle behind you

You turn your head slightly to see one of the bear cubs by the window

He spoke to you

Y/N: *Whispers* What?

...

Y/N: *Whispers* Speak louder!

...

Y/N: *Whispers* Oh... I don't know...

...

Y/N: *Whispers* Ask him? Okay?

You turn your head back to Onceler. You clear your throat before speaking to him softly

Y/N: Say... If I can sleep in here tonight... Can the rest of the animals sleep here too?

Onceler says nothing, but groans in response. You smile

Y/N: I'll take that as a yes

You turn your head back to the bear

Y/N: Okay, you can come in

The bear cub smiled. He then spoke to the other animals, and they all started coming in quietly, one by one

You felt more at ease that the animals were all sleeping with you. They felt like your family, and you didn't want to leave them alone

As you watched the animals make themselves comfortable, Onceler pulls you in once again

You now find yourself closer in his embrace. Your head nestled under his chin, his arm around your waist, holding your back

And there was nothing more

You allowed yourself, just for tonight, to be embraced with his warmth and security

At the time, you didn't know why you allowed it to happen

Or why you were feeling this way about the same mortal you wanted to get rid of that night

But you just allowed yourself to drift away the night, in his arms

Falling asleep by his side
