UNLESS [Onceler X Reader]

Y/N: Guys! Climb on that tree!

The bears didn't question your judgement whatsoever as they all collectively climbed on the tree

And, as if they already knew the plan, started making a bear chain, hanging from the tree, in an attempt to rescue the bear cub

But as all the bears got on the tree, there wasn't enough weight to pull it down fully, and not enough bears to reach down

You looked at the big bear standing next to you eating. You gave him a look, he stared at you blankly

Y/N: Come on! You have to go!

...

Y/N: What do you mean "No"? There's a cub we have to save!

...

Y/N: You're scared of heights? I- No! I don't have time for this!

You climbed on the tree with the big bear, you climbed down on the bear ladder, and hung by your hands

You watched as the bed started getting closer

Y/N: Okay, Pipsqueak! Reach out and grab my feet!

For a moment, the bear cub seemed to be reaching out to you, but as the bed drifted closer, it reached out for the fruit of the truffula tree that you and the animals were hanging on

It took the fruit and ate it, oblivious to the fact that you all were trying to save him

Y/N: Darn it!

As swiftly as you all got on the tree, the more swiftly you all climbed off

You ran after the bed once again, and instead of the bed taking the low current path, the bed started heading for the higher current pathway

Your eyes widened, this was bad. Very bad

The bear cub, now noticing where it was headed, started shivering in fear

You couldn't think of anything over all the stress and panic

Y/N: Onceler! Onceler! Wake up!

The bear cub clenched to the end of the bed, it weight making the bed tip over into the water

You gasped

But, due to the density of the bed, it flipped back up and both Onceler and the bear cup were still on it. But soaking wet

At that exact moment, Onceler woke up coughing from the sudden water in his lungs

He gasped as he opened his eyes, and looked at where he was

Onceler: Uh... What's happening!? Where am I!?

You saw the bed heading for the rapids, and your heart rate increased in a panic

Y/N: Hey, Onceler!

Onceler look to his side to you, still in shock not knowing exactly what's going on

Y/N: You're in trouble! It's coming up fast! Brace yourself!

Onceler turned around in his bed and sees the rapids up ahead. He screams in utter fear as he realizes what's going on

Onceler: Ah! We're in a river!

Then the bed starts roughly going down the rapids, hitting the rocks in its way, making Onceler and the bear cub jump with every hit

Onceler couldn't stop yelling out of the pure terror of it all

But, once they were safely through the rapids, they breathed a sigh if relief
