"We're with a Tulkun that's under attack." Neteyam had now joined you halfway in the water as the room around the tracker was getting smaller. "Killer ship's inbound." Every time you heard about the ship you yanked harder, pushing yourself further. "It's about two klicks out." What? How was it that close? You moved again hoping it would bring a different result. "It's all of us! Ao'nung and Tsireya too." If this had been a peaceful setting you would've made a jab about Lo'ak forgetting to mention Rotxo or yourself, but it wasn't and you were just doing the best you could to get the stupid tracker out. "We're at Three Brother's Rocks." You had tried everything to wiggle it out and yet nothing was working, you looked at it closer. You were still pulling but you were wondering if you possibly could know how to shut it off. "Yes, sir." You looked closer, pulled less, and started trying to work on it. You'd remember seeing the device in the far past and now you were trying to remember how to disable it. "It's getting closer!"
You had never seen Tsireya this scared, it reminded you all the more that you needed to be strong for them. Even for Neteyam who looked like he was keeping it together as he gave off a count to pull simultaneously. "Three, two, pull!" You pulled again to no avail. "Pull." You were, you had been. You wanted to look and see what you were onto by trying to shut it down instead. "Come on, pull harder!" Instead you were pulling with the others, the tracker still not budging. Kiri and Tuk were on top of the Tulkun but due to not having enough room couldn't help to try and pull the tracker out. "Keep pulling." Lo'ak came over after he was done with the call, hoping right back on task. You were all pulling sometimes in unison or in discourse. "I have an idea." Neteyam let go of the tracker and called for an ilu, you looked at the tracker as you tried pulling and noticed a way you might be able to shut it off. "Hurry!" You were just about to go after the spot when it got blocked by rotxos hand and your name was shouted out. "(Y/N)!" You turned to see Neteyam tossing you a rope.
That would work too. "Hurry up! Come on!" You caught it and quickly tied it around. "Bro, hurry up!" The beeping to you seemed to be getting louder by the second. "Go, we're all set!" Neteyam got onto his ilu and Lo'ak moved to be further down the rope. "Pull! Now!" Tsireya was now pushing the tracker with her leg as you were almost fully out of the water due to using all your weight to try and pull it out. "Everybody! Together!" You pulled yourself up more by the tracker. "Pull!" You were yanking it now, trying to get it to move just an inch, that's all you needed was just an inch. "Come on!" You were starting to feel less scared about the ship and more angry at the stupid tracker. "Why wont this thing just get out!" You screamed as your hands were slipping. "Pull, harder!" You were pulling harder, everyone was you'd hoped. "Pull!" But Tsireya had looked back to see the ship and was panicking, which meant it was just getting that much closer. "Damn it! Get out!" You screamed again, wanting to get the damn thing away. "Pull harder!" You were about to scream, you were due to frustration when it finally came loose, sending you back and fully in the water.
Ao'nung had fallen on top of you due to being so close, you moved aside and made your way up. "Go, everybody!" Tsireya was not calm right now, she was definitely freaking out. "Come on!" Everybody was in chaos. "Get out of here!" But for you everything seemed to go slow and you weren't finding it hard to breathe. "Go that way!" A voice amongst the chaos rang through over everybody else's. "I'll draw them off." He was right next to you. "Be careful, Neteyam." He nodded to you as he dove under. "Lo'ak, come." You moved over to Tsireya, the poor girl. "Payakan! Go, go, dive!" You saw Lo'ak swim over to Payakan, Ao'nung and rotxo diving under, and Kiri and Tuk starting to board an ilu. "Tuk, come on." Everyone swam under, you followed Tsireya down and called for an ilu with the others.
Even though they were far off you felt suges of waves come through the water. It felt hurtful as your ilu was bothered by it. Something about it hurt her, you had made your way around Payakan as he'd left and was now hiding with the others in the leaves. Everyone was looking up at the boats above you, but you were looking out to where the waves came from. You hoped Neteyam was safe. Your ilu squirmed nervously and you looked over at the others, in doing so you saw floods of bubbles form in the water. you squinted your eyes to see subs now fly towards you. Lo'ak saw them as well and started veering off. You were moving as well, motioning to the others to follow you both. You all swam in a group through the giant sea leaves. Lo'ak at the front leading the group and you in the back watching over everyone. you looked back to see the subs and what looked like crab suits closer. They were gaining on you faster than you had anticipated. The group needed to spread out now but everyone still remained in a group. You also didn't want to lose sight of Tuk and Kiri but they were getting closer now. Especially when you could now see Tuk struggling to stay on Kiri's ilu. When Lo'ak at least dipped off deeper into the leaves. You stayed behind Kiri and Tuk they best you could as your ilu lost its balance.
You had been hit from behind, they weren't just close anymore they were here. You had to maneuver around to find your balance again, the only reason you hadn't fallen off was your tight grip on the rein. You had been gripping it so hard your knuckles were going white. You flew into the sea leaves staying slightly above the group. You tried to go further down and get closer when you only just saw a crab suit in time, as it tried to grab you. Veering left you moved fast as to not get touched, how were they this fast underwater. Your nose twitched as you dove straight down fast to try and evade it. The sea leaves being the perfect cover and yet they were blocking your view of the others. you caught glimpses of them but it was never enough, you moved off and tried circling back as it looked like the group was separating. You saw Rotxo for a second being chased but failed to find any of Neteyam's siblings. Your eyes darted around as you had made sure you'd lost the crab suit that had been after you.
You just had to look to your right to see Tuk. Just Tuk, alone, no Kiri and no ilu. You swam over to her, finding it kinda smart to let go of your ilu as they had seen you now on them and would be looking for them. When you caught her attention she smiled. She looked so scared, you knew you had to keep yourself together. You pointed over to a place with better cover and more leaves. 'This way,' Tuk followed you without question as you led her over deeper into the sea leaves. As you swam you noticed a place to rest and get some air. You pointed up but led Tuk carefully, still examining your surroundings for any danger. When you both made it into the small safe haven you stopped to catch your breath first. "Are you alright Tuk?" You spoke in a hushed manner as a light flashed along the plant.
You were out of breath but you still held onto tuk as she nodded, also out of breath. "Good, this should give us some cover for a while." You looked around the plant, it wasn't too large and you had to pull your legs up so they wouldn't be exposed. "At least until your Dad gets here." You pulled your legs up higher, you didn't know how high you needed them to be but you also didn't want to take any chances. You held onto Tuk's shoulder as she had now caught her breath and was silently looking around wide-eyed. She still looked scared, "Tuk-" You were about to reassure her everything was okay when something popped out of the water, making you both scream in shock.
