"UA sports festival?"

You followed Mina through the halls like a lost puppy as she led you - and the rest of her friend group - to the locker rooms. Bakugou walked a few feet behind the rest of you, with his hands deep in his pockets; you couldn't help but wonder what his problem was.

"Mhm," Mina hummed, "you've joined at the perfect time, actually—any later and you would've missed it."

'Perfect time.' Sure... because you want to get the skit kicked out of you repeatedly and embarrass yourself on television.

The group quickly split up to get changed into their sports kits—Kaminari had said you were all in for hero training all afternoon. The thought made you want to throw up.

Sure, you had begun training with your father in the months leading up to you being transferred to UA, but it was nothing compared to the training your classmates had endured over the months. You were originally scheduled to enrol in UA at the beginning of the winter term that September, but due to some... unexpected circumstances, your transfer to UA had been hastened. Significantly hastened, giving you even less time to prepare yourself.

It was a miracle you didn't have to undergo any kind of physical entrance exam. Unlike your classmates, you were only made to sit a written exam before you could officially enrol in UA.

It was undoubtedly unfair - some of the students had been training all their life to get there, all for you to just waltz in without even having to pass a physical exam. It felt wrong for you to be placed in the same class and treated the same as everyone else, but who exactly were you supposed to complain to?

Grin and bear it (y/n), just grin and bear it.

Combat training.

Yippee.

You stood alongside the rest of your classmates at the P.E grounds as Aizawa stood before you, holding a piece of paper. Admittedly, you weren't listening to him speak - you knew what 'combat training' entailed - you were too busy getting a good look at all of your peers, trying to determine which one seemed the weakest in hopes that you'd be paired with them.

"...and Yaoyorozu Momo, Asui Tsuyu and (l/n) (y/n), Midoriya Izuku and..."

Asui Tsuyu..?

Carefully, you scanned the faces of your classmates, looking for Asui Tsuyu - whoever they were - until your gaze landed on a very short girl with dark green hair. She smiled at you and, instinctively, you smiled back.

She seemed nice enough.

"Her quirk is called frog."

Mina's voice startled you a little as she leaned over and whispered in your ear, but you nodded thoughtfully.

"Frog..." you muttered to yourself—it sounded harmless, but you knew better than to judge a book by its cover.

In pairs, students were called up to a large stretch of empty space where they would engage in combat whilst Aizawa would observe them and make notes. There didn't seem to be any prize for winning other than an ego boost, but you weren't even considering the possibility of you winning a fight. You were focused on not throwing up, or crying—whichever came first.

Your classmates' combat stills were impressive to say the least, it was hard to believe they had only been attending UA for a month. To you, they already looked like full-blown pro heroes, and you couldn't help but watch in awe as they figured out each other's weaknesses and acted accordingly.
