He had a tense stance, you reached your hand out slowly hoping you could reach him without drawing any attention. "No, Lo'ak." Tsireya was still trying to salvage this scolding from getting worse and you again prayed that Lo'ak would finally listen to someone and shut his mouth. "Sit." Tonwari pointed at Lo'ak as your hand reached Neteyam's. "Sit." The fact that he had to tell Lo'ak to sit twice bothered you. As the two of them crouched you jolted as he spoke again. "Sit down!" Yelling at all of you and you were sat. Neteyam was slower on the beat, making your arms stretched out a moment, you still wanted to hold onto him. Before to offer him some support but now it was for you to find some comforting warmth. Tonwari blew air out and shoved it with his hands as he continued.
"hear my words, boy." He was seriously pissed, you gave Neteyam's hand a slight squeeze. "In the days of the first songs, Tulkun fought amongst themselves for territory." You were more for the history lesson than the yelling so you let some tension in your body go. "And for revenge. But they came to believe that killing, no matter how justified, only brings more killing." You found sense in his words and felt his message resonate with you. "So all killing was forbidden." Your facial muscles softened with the calm nature with which he spoke. "This is the Tulkun way." He shifted in his stance, "Payakan, is a killer." You looked at Neteyam first, watching his hardened stare being focused on his brother. "So, he is outcast." You gave Neteyam another squeeze showing him a smile he only briefly caught. "I'm sorry, sir. But you're wrong." Both of your ears folded back. Why couldn't he keep his mouth shut? "Lo'ak." Neytiri's warring voice made you move closer to Neteyam as Lo'ak looked back to see his mother. "You speak to Olo'eyktan!" She spoke in a fit of hushed anger, and Lo'ak being the combative Na'vi he was spoke back.
"I know what I-" But he was interrupted. "That's enough!" You'd never heard Mr. Sully so angry, it gave you shivers and nervousness no one else could. You looked to Neteyam as he had his head hung low. You waited in silence as nobody spoke. "I know what I know." Neteyam was the one to give you a squeeze this time, while it was comforting the feeling didn't last long. Ronal hissed at the remark and Mr. Sully stepped next to Lo'ak crouching down. "That's enough." You could feel some of your body shake, even though you knew none of this was your fault you knew Neteyam would be the one to blame when you got home and it felt unfair. "I'll deal with this one." You didn't want to know what that meant in the slightest. As Mr. Sully forcefully hauled Lo'ak away you took a shaky breath and glimpsed at Tonwari. He sighed as Ronal kept pacing behind him. "You two are dismissed." The sudden attention made your shoulders tense. You dipped your head as Neteyam stood up, leading you to follow with your conjoined hands.
"Thank you, sir." As Neteyam bowed his head, you let your head rise when he did. You gave Tsireya one last pitiful look as Neteyam pulled you away. for a while, you walked silently and aimlessly. It wasn't an awkward silence but it was one that let you process what had just happened, Neteyam composed himself faster than you. "Do you think Kiri and Tuk are still with Rotxo?" You let a defeated sigh with a chuckling sound to it leave your mouth. Your head hung low again, still trying not to think about what awaited you both when you made it home. "Probably." You sounded so defeated, everything was gnawing at you, the fact that Quaritch was out there and you couldn't even confide in Neteyam. Not to mention the events of today which were stressful enough on their own.
You two had been walking for so long Eclipse was starting. "Or they might be back home by now." You nodded, still relishing the touch of his hand from making you lose your mind. "Do you think we should too then?" You sighed before you suggested the idea. Neteyam thought about it but instead proposed another idea. "Actually I have a better idea." The way his eyes looked at you caught your attention and your lips tightened into a smile. Neteyam started leading you somewhere with a purpose. No longer walking around without a destination in mind but rather a certain spot few would go. Back up on the hills where the Ikran were, the scenery was stunning as the night was starting to shine and this night seemed to glow with more purple and pink. The wind was stronger up here and your hair was swept up, Neteyam let go of your hand for the first time since you had initially grabbed it.
"Hey, girl." He greeted his Ikran by touching the edge of her face. You approached slowly after, not looking her in the eyes. "I think this was a great idea, Neteyam." He chuckled. "I haven't even executed the idea yet." Your stomach dropped slightly, now you knew what he meant. He wanted to go on an Ikran flight, you knew he missed home and you knew he was dying to keep his thoughts of home buried deep down. So when he looked at you like that, you just couldn't resist him. "Oh, Great Mother." He put his saddle on, tightening the leather straps to fit his Ikran and himself. You waited patiently, watching him get excited about the ride. He was indeed in his element with this, getting everything right and not hesitating, not even slightly. "Ready Tanhì?" He had mounted his Ikran and had his hand held out to you. His Ikran lowered itself letting the memory of the first time you had called his name come to mind.
You took his arm beaming and he pulled you up effortlessly just like then without waiting for a verbal response. You sat in front of him and he had one arm on the kuru and the other wrapped around your waist. He let out a signal to go and she was off. You flew back, stunned at the speed at first. You'd only ridden on his Ikran a handful of times and it had been a long while since the last. "Woah!" At first, the breeze was nice but then there was that empty feeling like there was nothing around for support besides Neteyam. This made you cling to him as you had before on that first journey over. This time however not tight enough you were leaving crescent marks from your nails.
Once Neteyam got high enough to his liking the pace slowed and felt lighter. You had been pressed close to Neteyam and had your eyes closed tightly shut, but as you felt his Ikran balance out and start to float you opened your eyes again. Your breath hitched as the sights of Awa'atlu. The underglow of the sea was magically illuminating the night. The small torches of light shining in the deeper areas gave light to those who needed it. The dark contrast of the flora behind gave the light a sparkling light almost as bright as the sun. "Beautiful isn't it?" You had no words, the scene was breathtaking. You heard and felt Neteyam chuckling, his chest vibrating behind you. You felt yourself leaning back, rolling your shoulders back and letting them drop down finally relaxing.
"Yeah, it's amazing." You felt Neteyam rest his head lightly on yours, his body close to yours. You embraced the weight and relieved some of your back making you both balance on each other. You both stared at the panorama from his Ikran high in the air. It was like you were one of the stars being up that high and even though you hadn't been sure on whether you wanted to join Neteyam on this escapade, you were now glad you had. You even thought you might not want to go back down, everything else just seemed so irrelevant to you just being up there with him. All that mattered was that you were both there, wrapped up in each other, both with your own worries and your own comforts. You moved your arms to have one hand lay on his arm wrapped around your waist and the other on his thigh. Your hand was only resting there, but his thigh was very muscular, something you'd never noticed before.
Out of panic, you kept your hand there but you could feel the warm purple flush onto your face. You kept looking at Awa'atlu and its beauty or at the head of Neteyam's Ikran just to distract you. Neither worked as well as they should've. The only action that brought you back was hearing Neteyam take a long breath. As his lungs expand his legs tensed up, great mother Eywa help you. He was sending you into a panic as you become hyper-aware of his whole body now. His chest against your back towering it in size, his legs next to yours brushing against each other, and his toned arm sturdily encasing you close to him. You were his promise, you were lovers and you have kissed, many times. You wanted to kiss him now, although that would have been difficult, but you did just want to kiss him. You shifted, trying to blow the dirty thoughts from your mind. As you moved you found this as a good opportunity to take your hand back. As soon as it left his thigh he started nesting into you further by putting in head down into your neck, Eywa help you this was going to be a long night.
