After a few days, I returned home. Rouge and the others had visited me a few times, but I healed quickly. After all, I was the ultimate lifeform.
I opened the door and heard Rouge speak. "Hey, hun. I heard you just got out of the hospital."
"Yeah." I replied as I closed the door behind me.
She turned to look at me. "Have you apologized to Sonic for ditching him yet?"
"I don't need to." I can't believe she asked me something like that. After all, he started it!
"He deserves an apology! He saved your life!"
I turned and looked away. I could hear my voice crack as I responded, "I'm the ultimate lifeform. I can't die..."
'Even knowing that, he still saved me. Why?'

For the next few days, Rouge would not leave me alone about it. During dinner, during work, even when I was pissing I could hear her speaking through the door. She really wanted me to say sorry. Might as well if it'll get her off my back.

I got a text message from Shadow. I almost forgot that I had given him my number a while back! Glad to see he finally used it.
Shadow: ...I'm sorry for leaving you earlier.
I smirked at my phone and typed a response.
Me: Aha! Finally you said it
Shadow: Don't push it, Faker.
Me: Alright, fineee 😆
I put my phone away. I'm a step closer to achieving my goal. Maybe it's possible after all!
