The Bad Batch successfully completed their rescue mission at Mount Tantiss, after their covert mission in Eriadu, ensuring the safety of all team members. Upon their return to Pabu, they were accompanied by Crosshair, who had been held captive by the Empire there, in a hidden laboratory. Crosshair's imprisonment was a result of his actions, for murdering Lieutenant Nolan when he reached his breaking point following Mayday's unnecessary death, even though he was a reg.
Initially, Crosshair had reservations about accepting the rescue because he carried the burden of guilt for his actions under the Empire, particularly those directed towards his squad. His past traumas and self-destructive tendencies led him to believe that he was undeserving of salvation. Fortunately, his family saw things differently. The compassion shown by Omega and the unwavering support of the rest of the Bad Batch convinced him that he deserved another chance to be reunited again. They also deeply regretted leaving him behind during the early days of Order 66 when he was still under the influence of the inhibitor chip, even though he later made his own choices.
