( IN THIS CHAPTER THERE IS A Death Cure reference. if you find it, comment.)

" Min?"

I walked back to Newt

" Yeah?"

" If I die, I want you to know something."

No, no, no, no. If I hear this, I'll break down, and never be able to get back up. He kept going.

" Minho, I-"

" No. I promise you are not dying, so I don't need to know this."

" But-"

" No!"

Newt looked defeated, but he reached out and grabbed my hand.

" Goodbye Min."

He made it sound so final. My voice cracked.

" Bye Newt."

I grabbed my backpack, and I ran out of the house fighting tears.

I ran out of the house, closing the door, and ran to the closest house, which was only a few feet away. This house looked pretty good, but was only one story. Once I got in the new house I fell to the ground sobbing. Newt knew he was going to die. I knew Newt was going to die. WICKED probably knew Newt was going to die. I only cried for a minute, before getting back up. I spoke to myself

" Come on. Newt's life could depend on you finding medicine."

This house had three bedrooms. The first one looked like a small child's room, with peeling star wallpaper, a crib, and a diaper table. Nothing there. The next bedroom was a two person kid bedroom, with gray painted walls, a bunk bed, and a closet, which contained nothing. The last bedroom was the parents bedroom, with a queen bed, and a closet. Nothing in there. The kitchen proved to be equally worthless because the kitchen was now just an empty room. This house was out.

" Okay, stay calm, there are plenty more houses, and you've only been gone for a minute."

The next house was uneventful, so was the third house. I only wish I could say the same thing for the fourth house. I was getting a little worried, since I hadn't even found food, let alone medicine. The fourth house was the same as the others, but this one you could actually read the address.

250.

This house smelled like blood. . . I walked in the open door, and saw a hallway. I checked the bedrooms and the kitchen, but in the living room there was a closet. I yanked, opened the closet door, and saw a bowling ball roll towards me, off the highest shelf.

" Shuck"

I managed to get out, before it bounced off my head. When I woke up, I immediately thought of Newt. What time was it? How long have I been gone? I raced out of the house, and my heart dropped. It was night. I had been gone at least all day, maybe more.

Stupid,

Stupid,

Stupid,

Stupid

That was the word that went over and over in my mind as I raced for the house we stayed in. Where Newt was. Where Newt hopefully was. I opened the door, and walked in closing it. So far, so good. Then I noticed something. It was windy. Windy. In the house. I walked to where the wind was coming from, and I ended up in the dark kitchen. Well, it wasn't dark anymore. Apparently there was a back door to the house, and it was open. I turned away, then quickly spun back around. It took a moment for me to register what I was seeing. Back door. Open. Open back door. Open back door in the house Newt was in. Or were Newt used to be. With the thought

Were Newt used to be

I ran up the stairs whispering to myself

" Please, please, please. . ."
