The End |Chapter 41|

Silence filled the house once more, it felt overwhelming. Your eyes went from person to person, scanning everyone's reactions.

Rusl's arms were crossed as he stood beside Mayor Bo, looking directly at Katherine, his mouth pulled into a tight line as he glowered at her.

Katherine seemed rather quizzical, as she noticed Rusl's hostility towards her. But, you noticed her quietly scoff under her breath.

Looking over to Ilia, she was giving Link a a sympathetic look, before turning to look at you knowingly.

Link was looking at the ground, eyes filled with so many thoughts and emotions, that he couldn't find the words to say what needed to be said. He closed his eyes as he squeezed your hand tighter.

You could see clearly what he was going through right now, so you brought his hand up to your mouth and kissed it, before bringing it back down and squeezing it back in return, all while giving him a reassuring smile.

Just as you were about to speak, Mayor Bo beat you to it. "Look, Rusl told me what Y/n and Link told him."

He was looking directly at Katherine as he spoke, the look on his face could only be described as disappointed and grave.

Katherine seemed to straighten up a bit, putting on her innocent act, as she watched him closely. You could see the worry in her eyes, along with panic, fear, and anger.

"Is it true, that you've been abusing Link this entire time you've been here, and even went as far as to try to kill Y/n?"

Katherine's mouth was pulled into a tight line, as she seemed to have been taken aback. She glanced over to you. The look in her eyes could only be described as pure hatred for you, like she was about to pounce on you like a rabid beast, for having the guts to tell someone what she has done.

Afterwards, she looked directly at Link. The look in her eyes made it same like she was planning something sinister for him. It made your blood boil, as you removed your hand from Link's, and instead wrapped it around him, pulling him closer to you, while you looked Katherine dead in the eyes menacingly.

Link was shaking anxiously, as he greatfully accepted your embrace. Once you finally decided to remove your eyes from Katherine, you noticed the reaction's from both Mayor Bo and Rusl. At some point, Ilia had walked over to Link, and placed a hand on his shoulder, in a attempt to comfort him.

Mayor Bo was shaking his head in disappointment, as the betrayal and anger were obvious behind his eyes. Rusl glared daggers at Katherine, also looking quite disappointed in her, as he walked over and placed an arm around your shoulder, giving you and Link a reassuring smile, before turning back to the Mayor and Katherine with a serious look.

"I see, so that is how it is then."

Katherine stiffened as those words left the Mayor's mouth. You could see the pleading, panicked look in her eyes, as she stared wide eyed at him.

"I hereby ban you from this Village. You are to never return to Ordon Village ever again."

Katherine's mouth looked like it was about to drop to the floor. But she quickly changed her expression, and tried to save her image, and continued her little act.

"But sir! You haven't even heard my end of the story! How can you be so sure what was said is true? It could have been a lie!"

Confidence seemed to flood back into Katherine, as she looked at you, a certain gleam in her eyes. You knew what she was about to do.

"Who even was the one to tell Rusl? Was it Link, or was it Y/n?!"

She had her attention back to the Mayor, her innocent act seeming to be in full effect, as the Mayor began to question the situation as well.

"Why does it even matter? It's very obvious that you are in the wrong, can't you tell by the way both Y/n and Link are acting?"

Rusl spoke with much authority and seriousness, looking directly into Katherine's eyes as he spoke. Katherine was cornered, and there wasn't much she could do but hope her words affected the Mayor.

Her last piece of hope was dwindled, when Mayor Bo looked at Link and yourself, and sighed. Before turning to Katherine again, his arms crossed.

"Good try Katherine, but I was also told about your manipulation. Now get your stuff and leave this Village, or I'll be forced to get the royal guards involved."

Katherine clenched her jaw, as she realised she had lost this. She had lost the war the two of you were having. And she had lost any respect she had from this Village and it's people.

Grumbling, she walked past you, making sure to glare daggers at you, before leaving.

Everyone seemed to relax once she was gone. Especially Link, seeing how he nearly collapsed in your arms. But luckily you had a fantastic hold on him, as you continued to hold him close to you.

Mayor Bo wanted to talk to you about some stuff involving Katherine tho, seeing how Link seemed in no way able to talk about her currently. So you agreed, while Ilia walked Link to his home to keep him company while you were busy. You thanked her before she left the building with Link.

After what felt like hours of being questioned by both Rusl and Mayor Bo, you were finally able to return home, which by then, the sun had set.

Once you opened the door, you noticed Link wasn't in sight, so you figured he was either upstairs, or in the basement.

"Link, I'm back, where are you? "

Making your way to the ladder, you noticed a head with dirty blonde hair peak out from the top floor. Smiling to yourself, you made your way up the many ladders, Link lending his hand to help you up the last bit, which you happily took.

The look in his eyes seemed distant, like he didnt know how to feel, react or do anything anymore. You couldn't blame him, you'd probably have reacted the same way, if such a thing had happened to you.

You sat yourself across from him, leaning against the wall. You didn't know what to do, you'd never dealt with something like this before, or from what you could recall.

"What do I do? I want him to be happy, seeing him look so down, like he is internally hating himself, hurts me. How can I help him? God i feel so useless."

Letting out a sigh, before scooching over to him. Finally, a thought had acured. What would you have wanted someone to do for you when you are going through a tough time. A small smile finally graced your face, as you moved yourself to be sat right beside Link.

"Link,"

He hummed in responce, as you wrapped an arm around him, and gently pulled him to you, so he was leaning against you.

"You know I'm here for you no matter what, especially if your feelings are getting to you and you need to release them, right?"

He went silent, before suddenly you felt him move out of your embrace and turn to look at you, tears already falling from his eyes, and a smile gracing his perfectly handsome face.

"Thank you Y/n so much, for everything. By the goddesses, I'm so glad I met you."

You were beyond surprised, as he proceeded to shuffle into your lap, and wrap his arms around you in an embrace.

Happily and rather flustered, you wrapped your arms around him as well, before giving him a kiss on the cheek, as he buried his head into your neck.

Smiling happily to yourself, you let out a happy sigh. "Goodnight, Link."

Wooooooooo! Ok! So, I think I'm going to end it right here. Thank you all for your endless support and live for this fanfic. I truly, truly am so happy that people really enjoyed this fanfic, and continue to enjoy it. I had a lot of fun writing it, and at first never thought it would get past the 12th chapter, but not only did it make it past that, it's now at 41 chapters!
