Confrontation|Chapter 8|

You sat there in silence for what seemed like a long while, but really wasnt that long.

Staring at the water, you were about to say something, when suddenly you heard some one's approach.

Ilia was the first to see who it was, waving at the approacher and making small talk, as they approached.

Glancing up from the water, you took note that it was Link. As he looked at you, you gave a small smile and wave, before handing him his sandwich, he took it, before sitting down beside you.

Link thanked you, before beginning to unravel the plastic wrap from his sandwich, and taking a bite.

Ilia gave you both a questioning look, suddenly realization hit her, and it was quite obvious to you.

"Oh, so that's why you hadn't touched the other sandwich, That makes sense."

You just nodded your head in return, before going back to looking at the water, watching the fish swim around.

Suddenly you had an idea, you werent sure if you would succeed, but it was worth a shot, and besides, you didnt really have anything else to do, so why not?

Now, the only thing needed to go along with your idea, was to get the courage to ask Link if he had a fishing rod, and if you could use it.

You decided to wait till after he was done eating first tho.

Link suddenly perked up from his half eaten sandwich and suddenly spoke, which spooked you, causing you to jump slightly.

"So, what were you two talking about before I arrived, you both seem so quiet now."

Link chucked slightly, while you quickly relaxed yourself back into the sitting position you had been in.

Not knowing what to say, you ended up quiet for a few seconds, before Ilia piped up.

"Link,"

Ilia started hesitantly, you could hear the heaviness in her voice, and you think Link could hear it too, because he suddenly stopped himself from taking another bite of his sandwich.

"Even Y/n can tell that Katherine isn't a good person, and he's barely been here for a day."

You were surprised that she was quite upfront about it. Her sentence having had made you avert your gaze from the river, to her and Link, you were feeling a little awkward now.

Link had turned his gaze towards you with shock, having not had expected you to figure it out so quickly.

Your eyes met with Link's, feeling embarrassed, and like you werent supposed to be apart of this, you quickly averted your eyes back to the river filled with fish.

Remaining quiet, you listened in on the conversation, instead of participating, because naturally, this wasn't any of your business, and yet, you had made yourself apart of it.

Glancing at Link from the corner of your eye, you saw a heart breaking scene.

Link had been looking at the grass, as he leaned against the building, with such a sorrowful look that made your heart wince.

He just sighed, like he just didnt want to deal with everything right now.

"Is it that obvious?"

You could hear the obvious stress in his voice, as he put his head in his arms, which were on his legs, that had been pulled up to his chest.

Ilia shifted over, so she was sitting beside him, and placed an arm around him.

"Link, you know better than anyone that she isnt a good person to be with, look at the way she has treated you!"
