The same path | Taegyu

CHAPTER 4

Today is Beomgyu's first day of classes since moving into a new place to call home.

He searched the area for his classroom but couldn't seem to locate it.

He frowned and began searching for "school maps" on school signs.

That's when Soobin noticed him.

"Hey, do you need help?" Soobin immediately offered in a soft tone.

"Oh yes, hi! I do. I just moved here and I'm.. kinda lost? I can't seem to find my classroom."

Soobin nodded and looked at Beomgyu's hand where he's holding a paper.

"May I see?"

"Yeah, sure."

Soobin analyzed Beomgyu's schedule, nodding into each one of them before giving it back to Beomgyu.

"Your next class should be in Class A-2, it's on the first floor of that building." Soobin pointed at the building that can be seen just close to them. "Just few more walks and you'll find it."Soobin said.

Beomgyu followed Soobin's direction and nodded in understanding.

"Thank you so much, you're very kind." Beomgyu said softly, bowing to Soobin.

"Of course— hold on. Aren't.. you?" Soobin slowly tried recognizing him.

"Huh?"

"Aren't you the guy from the hotel who offered us food?" Soobin asked him, curiously, wishing he wasn't mistaken.

"Excuse me?" Beomgyu asked, confused.

"I am the guy from the hotel. Room 5. Where you offered us food but my roommate denies and I have to take it." Soobin explained.

Beomgyu thought for a while before finally realizing what Soobin meant. "Oh, oh yeah."

Soobin smiled after knowing he wasn't mistaken. "Sorry for the rude behavior of my roommate. Gosh, he has always been like that. I am still trying to do what's best for him to change."

"No, it's okay. We really do have to accept that some people will be like that. You can't force everyone to like you."

Soobin nodded then looked at the time. "Well, my next class is in a while so I should probably get going. It was nice meeting you, again!"

"Yeah, me too. Thank you again for helping me." Beomgyu bowed again before the two parted ways.

Beomgyu followed the direction Soobin gave him. He then recalled their conversation and had a flashback from yesterday.

So that's what the guy from the concert meant about 'the guy from the hotel'.

He met the rude guy again yesterday and yet, he's still rude.

But then again, he recalled the conversation yesterday.

Where the 'rude guy' was simply kinder. Asking for his name and all.

That confuses Beomgyu.

What did he truly want?

Beomgyu was just walking down the stairs when he bumped into someone.

The rude guy.

Beomgyu fell to the ground after losing some balance.

"Oh shit, sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you." The rude guy said, offering a hand.

Beomgyu grabbed Taehyun's hand to stand up. "No, it's fine. I wasn't looking." He said, facing Taehyun.

That is when Taehyun realized who he is talking to.

"Oh, you again?" Taehyun lost his kindness. He was this rude guy again.

"I should be asking the same question.."

Taehyun looked around and crossed his arms. "So you go here too? Are you following me?"

Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows. "No, we just happen to have the same path."

"Or you just admit that you're stalking me." Taehyun said in a very not friendly tone.

Beomgyu sighed. "I need to go. I have a class to get into."

Taehyun nodded then chuckled. "Sure. Make sure it's not the same class as mine."

Beomgyu rolled his eyes. "Don't worry. I'm going downstairs and you're going upstairs."

"Whatever." Taehyun responded as he pushed Beomgyu, making him lose balance once again.

He then went upstairs, leaving Beomgyu behind.

"Ugh, rude." Beomgyu mumbled as he helped himself stand up before going to his next class.

He's still the same, as if he didn't just tried acting kind yesterday?

He is so confusing, what is this guy's intention?

Taehyun went upstairs and spotted Kai.

"Kai!" He shouted but Kai just looked at him and walked away.

"Hey, Kai!" He called again then ran towards him.

"Kai." He said, facing him.

"What do you want, Taehyun?" Kai said, avoiding eye-contact with him.

Taehyun pouted. "What's wrong?"

Kai scoffed. "You. You left me yesterday. I invited you for a reason and you just left me. I didn't want to go to that concert alone but you left."

Taehyun sighed, he genuinely feel bad. "Look, I'm so so sorry. I know how much that concert meant to you that's why I went with you. I am sorry for leaving you behind and ruining your day. As much as I wanted to stay, I kinda regret going but that does not mean I didn't want to be there, for you. I went even though I didn't like the band. I did it for you. So, I'm really sorry for leaving you behind. I promise you, it won't happen again. I was being a bad friend."

Kai nodded. "I'm sorry for forcing you too.. I was being selfish for that part."

"No, it's okay. Can we leave it behind us for now? I wouldn't want our friendship going through such things like this."

"Yeah, me too. We can leave this behind us." Kai smiled softly then proceeds to talk with Taehyun about another topic.
