Little Girl

There are days when I am Niña
and days when I am not.
My heart is a hopeful flowing river in the morning
and a violent splashing wave at night.
If only I could dip my toes in the sea,
I would be free.
If only I could let go of the noise,
I would be the sailing ship.
Little girl, this poem is for you.
To love you is to be the sailing ship.

—Been writing (again) lately, thanks to Joseph Fasano 's prompts 🍂

P.S. My name Niña means little girl and I feel like I always need to speak assurance and encouragement to her heart. She's precious 🤍
