It's been exactly 183 days since my parents died.

I still remember that day. Me and Julie were at the mall. Shopping for dresses to wear to our Sophomore Semi-Formal.

Julie was in a red dress, that hugged her in all the right places, she looked stunning.

As for me, I was in a deep plum colored dress. I thought it looked awful on me, something my grandmother would wear to bed, to be exact.

But Julie disagreed, she said it made me look older, more mature.

As I was on the platform, looking in the mirror, I watched the girl staring back at me.

I hated everything about me. My hair wasn't soft enough, my teeth weren't white enough, my boobs were big enough, and my stomach wasn't flat enough.

I was in the middle of mentally putting my self down, when I got the phone call.

It was a private number, and at first I wasn't going to answer it, I figured it was just another telemarketer who wanted me to take a survey on global warming.

But something told me I should answer it. And so I did

"Hello?" I hesitantly asked.

"Is this Ema West?" The man on the other end asked in a cold tone.

"Yes, this is her. Can I help you?" I retorted, expecting the man to ask for a donation to save the panda bears or something.

"I'm so sorry. There's been a terrible accident, it's you're parents. They were pronounced dead at the scene." He explained, I can here the sympathy in his voice.

But that was it. I don't know what happened after that.

I woke up in the hospital, with wires and cords attached to me, like I was a robot.

Unfamiliar faces with white coats and clipboards, hovered around me.

When finally came to, I thought it was all a bad dream, I just wanted to see my mom and dad.

As I scanned the room for them, I couldn't find them.

From what the doctors and Julie told me , I passed out from shock when I got the phone call about my parents.

I closed my eyes, and wished for it to all go away.

A few tears spilled from my eyes, and I went numb.

My life just came crumbling down before my eyes, and there was nothing I could do about it.
