Kirishima blinked slowly. Chemistry was not going to go by any faster no matter how hard he willed the clock to move. He was both insanely hungover and bored out of his mind. Even though he chugged a red bull that morning, he simply couldn't focus. Usually, this wouldn't be a problem- he'd copy off of Kaminari's homework and call it a day. Kaminari was about as smart as Kirishima, except he actually completed his work. Kirishima couldn't say the same. But, he had a massive midterm coming up that he couldn't fail or he'd be at risk of losing his football scholarship.
He actually had to focus. Focus, focus, focus. Was all he repeated in his head, but it just made him incredibly bored. No computers allowed that day in class either.
Kirishima turned his head to look anywhere but the endlessly confusing equations on the white board. Sometimes, on days like that day when no electronics were allowed, he liked to stare at the blond boy who sat exactly two rows in front of him, to the left enough where Kirishima could sneak glances at his face when he turned. He was slightly infatuated with the guy if he was being honest with himself. It was easy to stare at him, especially on summer days when he wore tank tops.
But, on this particular day, Kirishima wasn't staring at the guy because of his looks. He was staring because he was building up the courage to ask him to tutor him. The blonde (he didn't know his name) consistently scored the highest grades in the class. Kirishima knew this, as well as the entire class, because the guy liked to brag. He was surprisingly cocky for his nerdy persona.
"That's it for today class. Please stop by my office if you have questions about the midterm next week," said professor Aizawa. The blonde started to pack his things, as did the rest of the students.
"Yo, you coming to the party at Sero's frat tonight?" Inquired Kaminari, leaning over to Kirishima. Kirishima hesitated. He knew he shouldn't really party on the weekends if he wanted to pass the exam. And he also knew next to nothing about chemistry. "Ahhh.. I dunno man." He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. Kaminari shot him a confused glance and shrugged. "Alright, just text me then." Kirishima nodded along, but was more focused on packing his things as quickly as possible to catch the blonde. "I gotta go. I may be busy tonight." And with that, he shot up and started speed walking to the blonde, essentially cutting off the other guys exit to catch him.
Kirishima was now face to face with him. He was actually way more attractive up close. A concerning amount more.
"Are you gonna say something, or let me leave, shitty hair?" Wow. This guy was abrasive as shit. And Kirishima had been caught staring.
"Ah. Uh. What's your name again?" He managed to choke out.
"If you just came to ask for my name, you should've asked someone else." The blonde pushed past Kirishima.
"Hey man- no wait! I have an actual question." Without thinking, he put his hand on the guys bare shoulder to stop him. He tried not to notice how the blonde tensed a bit under his fingertips.
"Well, what the fuck is it then?" The guy crossed his arms. He has some really, really nice arm muscles. Manly. Kirishima gulped. "Look..."
"It's Bakugo."
"Bakugo, right. Look dude, you seem super smart."
"I don't seem smart. I am smart." He corrected.
"Right. Well, I'm not exactly on your level regarding that. And I sort of really need to pass the midterm."
"No. I'm not tutoring you."
Kirishima's puppy dog eyes kicked in almost immediately. Somehow, he managed to make himself look pitiful although he was objectively more built and taller than Bakugo.
"Look..." he lowered his voice. "I have to pass this to keep my scholarship. I'll pay you!" He whined. Bakugo just stood there, enjoying watching the red head plead. He knew he'd say yes since he would be paid, he just wanted to watch the other man make a fool of himself for a bit longer.
"Tch. I'll think about it. Come to my dorm room tonight around 7. It's number 206 in the west building. And it's not some fucking date, I just have to leave right now." And with that he turned around a left without so much as a goodbye. Kirishima hadn't even said he was free then.
"Ok dude... uh. See you later I guess?" The red head scratched the back of his neck. He was incredibly confused about the other guy. He was a damn anomaly, somehow incredibly rude, intelligent and attractive. He seemed closed off too, which only incentivized Kirishima to want to get to know him better. If anyone could make a friend with an angry Pomeranian man, it was Kirishima.

6:45 PM
Sero: Hey man party starts at 8
Kiri: I have a study session I have to go to 🥲🥲🥲
Sero: bro what you never study
Sero: pull up
Kiri: I swear I will if I have time. Count me next party tho.
Kirishima sighed and put his phone back in his pocket. He honestly wanted to go hang out with his bros, get drunk, and do some crazy stupid shit. But no. Self control, you have to keep your scholarship. So, instead of his normal frat party attire (camo shorts, crocs, SnapBack, maybe a shirt), Kirishima found himself in plain shorts and a hoodie.
He pushed open his door and walked down the stairs of the frat house. Though the party started at 8, it was nearing 7 and the first few people had started filtering in. He stepped over a few crushed beers cans then rushed out the door, attempting to evade his frat brothers. "Ei!" Called Denki, panting as he ran up to Kirishima. "Where ya off to?" He wiggled his brows. "It's just some study session. I promise I'll party later, but I have to pass the midterm." Denki shrugged and nodded. "Alright. See you later then, man." Kirishima turned around and headed out the door.
