Don't judge me, I told them it wasn't that big of a deal.

He leans over the edge of the boat, looking over the blue ocean.

Everyone knows hot springs are a boomer thing. But Miya swore this particular one as known for—miraculously healing injuries. Better be worth it.

Reki's attention was drawn to Ayaka, who was dozing off in one of the nearby brown chairs, his black headphones securely fastened over his ears. Reki couldn't help but wonder how Ayaka managed to listen to music with those headphones, given that they didn't have a wire.

As he observed Ayaka, he couldn't help but linger on him a moment longer than he intended, his eyes unconsciously tracing his features. Probably just wireless. He thought to himself.

"'He's hot!'" someone mocked.

Reki flinched slightly and moved his gaze to the right, noticing that's where Langa had draped his arms over the railing. "Would you stop looking at Ayaka when he's asleep? You look weird." Langa said.

Reki frowned at him. "I wasn't looking at him!" he defended. "I was looking over at—uh..." He looked around, spotting a girl with a white dress, long black hair and big hat over her head. "Her." And he had to admit, she was cute.

"So that's what you like." Miya said, popping up behind Reki.

"Don't waste your time. She's not into you." Shadow stated, crossing his arms.

"How can you be so sure when I hadn't talked to her yet? Stupid!" Reki said. Shadow and Miya side-eyed him. Shadow nudged his head forward toward the girl with an unimpressed look.

Reki grumbled, and started to walk toward her. He took a couple steps when he decided to stop.

"Langa. Go say hi to her." he said.

Langa went confused. "Why? This is your thing."

"Or have Ayaka do it, whatever. I need a wingman!" Reki said, going to Langa's side and dropping an arm over his shoulder. "That way, I look cool and not desperate." he smiled, closing his eyes.

"Glad you know your weaknesses." Miya snickered.

"Shut it!"

"What's the best way to talk to a girl here?" Langa asked. Reki slumped, thinking for a moment.

"Just ask her some questions! Ya know?" he said, turning around gracefully with a blush and a smile.

"Like, 'Hey girl, are you hungry'? Eh?"

"No, she's not you." Reki stated to Langa, not impressed either.

Miya huffed. "This is dumb. We're on a ferry from Okinawa so just say she looks familiar, or something."

The girl started walking toward the group. "What's that?" she asked.

Reki swallowed, and his cheeks went pink. "Oh! Um, I know how to skateboard really well-"

"Can you hear me now?" the girl asked, looking around with a phone to her ear. She walked away, and Reki stood there, stunned.

Shadow and Miya bursted out into laughter. "Man, that was brutal!" Shadow laughed.

"So embarrassed for you!"

"You're gonna be okay." Langa mumbled.

"Dude, I'm not depressed!" Reki shouted.

Langa hummed at that, seeming to finally remember something. He turned toward Ayaka, and started walking to him.

He gently shook Ayaka's shoulder, and Ayaka slowly opened his eyes, blinking as he looked up to see Langa standing over him with a slight frown on his face. As Ayaka gradually regained his senses, he reached up to take off his headphones, setting them down in his lap. "What's wrong?" he asked.
