The party that was thrown in reece's honor had started to die down.

He had a chance to converse with his grandparents, aunts and uncles, and even his cousins.

His mother had taken the baby so that she could feed him, so Chris took this time to go talk to his pops.

"Reece good, we need a talk." Not even a second before he sat down.

"Daddy, he just got home. Can we not talk about work, please?!" Saweetie pleaded.

"I need to discuss this with your brother, baby girl." Viera rolled her eyes as he completely ignored her request.

"Reece, you gotta lay low for a while. With your release, you still gotta answer to your parole officer, and I don't want the cops trying to dig around our shit. Even though we've managed to keep things clean for a while with you, being back is the time to expand the business. " He took a puff from his blunt.

The white smoke blew out his nose, disappearing into the air as soon as it was released, leaving behind that marijuana smell.

"What do you mean by that? You tryna do legal shit now, pops?" Amero laughed at his
son's reply.

"Vi, go see if your mom needs any help with Kross fa me." She nodded, getting up and heading inside the house.

Although she knew of what they did, Amero didn't want his baby girl too deep into the family business, even though she kind of already was.

OHB was more than a gang or just business. It was a family operation. Ran by family and manufactured by family.

There were two top residing families in LA, and the Brown's just happened to be one of them.

Amero and Reece chatted some more.

Business was about to be so sweet now that Reece was officially back.

A much needed nap later, Reece went to find Saweetie so they could talk. It was a little after midnight.

"You really missed that shit huh?" She chortled, referring to the blunt he smoked.

The night was serene, the air crisp the sibling pair sat on the roof of their luxury home. They were laughing like two drunk best friends.

The only thing they were drunk on was laughter from both of their jokes.

"No, Reece, you know she really liked you, and you dumped the girl...on prom night i add," she said, laughing hysterically, making him remember his that night, which only made him laugh harder.

He was a bit high but was still aware of things.

"Man, that bitch was a PSYCHOPATH, a real life crazy. You know she tried to trap me one time bitch poked a hole in the condom acting like I'm dumb or some shit" Viera fell back laughing.

His ex-girlfriend Jordyn was absolutely insane to say that last. Their relationship was regular; they would indulge in casual sex from time to time but she started wanting more out of it. She started acting crazy trying to fight the girls he would talk with and pop up to the places he was at all the time.

He really wasn't the type for relationships since….

He didn't even want to think about her.

Her laughter died down and it was replaced by silence. "I missed this...us talking in the wee hours of the morning knowing damn well if mom or dad caught us we would get it" She chuckled.

I sensed a hint of sadness in what she said and then he remembered what his mom told him.

"Promise me you won't get yourself into any shit that's gonna take you away again" Looking down she played with her freshly painted acrylics.

Chris put out his bluntness. "Viera, listen, I apologize for leaving because it was when you needed me the most. I missed out on alot with you but I had to do it to protect you even though I didn't take the fall mom or dad would've. It would've killed me to see you in an orange uniform again. I'm sorry I had to leave you but I assure you I'm back now. And I'm back for good" I told her truthfully.

"Pinky promise me blood" holding her pinky finger out he laughed at her gesture connecting her pinky finger with hers

"So you go back to school on monday right?" She nodded.

"Aight, i'm gonna drop you off and pick you back up" Viera couldn't help but feel excited about it.

Having him pick her up and drop her off would definitely calm her anxiety.

When she started school Lauren would call Chris all the time so they could speak to each other. She often shared with him her grades, what she did that day.

"I saved all my report cards so that you could see all the A's and B's".

"What do you get a b in?".

"Art" she said slowly trying to avoid what was gonna come next.

"What?" He exclaimed.

"Bro just because you can draw doesn't mean i can".

"Yes you can. You know what i always say".

"You can do anything you put your mind to, I know!" I shook my head.

"I'm glad that you're doing well though. If you ever need anything or just to talk remember i'm always going to be here for you okay".

"Okay" He nodded once more.

Just because viera was a part of a gang doesn't mean she got a lean way.

When it comes to academics he wanted her to graduate high school and do whatever it is that her dream was.

Chris wanted his babysitter far away from the lifestyle they currently lived.

"I'll be having a look at those report cards tomorrow" She rolled her eyes.

"Okay dad" He playfully pushed her, making her fall to the side.

"What about a boyfriend?" I arched my brow at her asking.

"Viera don't play with me" She brayed.

"Alright, damn!".

To Chris she didn't need a boyfriend. Niggas only brought issues and he would be damned if any little boy would ask dare to stress his sister out or worse get her pregnant.

There was no doubt that she was beautiful.

Who do you think she takes it after? He thought.

"But there is this one boy….."

Awe hell nah! He thought again.

"Lil girl, what happened to boys that are gross?" He said imitating her face when she would say boys are gross when she was about five years old.

"Boy, I was like five they're kinda cute now I guess," she shrugged.

"You ain't need no boyfriend right now, those books come first. Trust me you don't need em"

"Alright".

"You know I love you and I got you right?" She smiled.

"Yes I do".

Chris pulled her close and gave her a much needed hug.

He didn't like them, but only his mama and sister made the cut when it came to hugs.
