Alex was sitting in her chair when all of a sudden her phone rang she stiffened up, her team looking her way she got up slowly took her phone and went to the break room then answered it
"Severide" I said
"Alex it's dad" her brother Kelly spoke
"Where are you?" I asked my brother
"Chicago Med" he answered
"Ok Kelly breathe I'll be there soon I have to tell Hank ok" I said he replied with ok then the line went dead I ran out of the break room and to Hanks door and knocked he motioned me to come in and I did
"Sir,Hank it's Benny can I...." I started
"Yeah go" he said
"Thank you " I said as I hurried to my desk to get my jacket and keys kissed Jay on the way out and got in my car on the way to the hospital

Getting to the hospital I parked my car got out and ran in to the reception desk
"Hi um.... Is there a Benjamin Severide here" I asked
"Alex" Kelly called I turned around and saw him leaning on the wall with tears as I went to hug him
"What happened?" I asked
"There saying it was a stroke he was dead when I got here" Kelly said to me I closed my eyes
"Damn it" I said as I hit the wall the sound of the hospital doors opening got my attention and I looked over and saw firehouse 51 here and the guys from district 21
Sighing I went out to get some air and jay followed me
"Do you know the last thing I said to him was that Hank was a better father to me than he ever was" I said as I had tears in my eyes and I refused to let them fall
"I'm sorry baby, do you wanna go home" he asked me I sniffled
"Uh yeah just uh..... just let me tell Kelly im leaving" I said as I went back inside to find my brother but found Stella instead
"Um where's Kelly?" I asked
"Doc took him back to get some of bennys things" Matt says
"Thanks uh can you tell Kelly I went home" I asked them
"Yea" Matt says as he pulled me into a hug I hugged back then left with Jay
*time skip*
As we got home and went inside the house I walked straight into the kitchen and made dinner, numb to the feeling of losing either a family member or a friend I've already lost one of my best friends Jules and my other best friend Andy Darden and now my dad
I made a roast with some vegetables and I made me a fruit salad, I put the roast in the slow cooker and let it cook. I then went to the living room where Jay was and sat down cuddled into him with my knees up to my chest watching tv I layed my head on his shoulder and sighed
"Hey it sucks losing a family member I know but you're gonna be ok, you still have me,Kelly, anyone over at 51, 21 and med trust me I had to learn that the hard way when I got back from the rangers, you're gonna be ok you are one of the most badass people I know " he said to me I looked up at him and kissed him
"I love you jay " I said as I hugged him smiled and closed my eyes
"Love you too Severide" he said as he kissed my head
