Rivalry Between Z! (Azur Lane fanfiction)

Prologue 2

Second Battle of Narvik,
13 April 1940,
Norway.

Strength of the Kriegsmarine
Z13 Erich Koellner,
Z9 Wolfgang Zenker,
Z11 Bernd von Arnim,
Z18Hans Ludemann,
Z19Hermann Künner,
Z17 Diether von Roeder,
Z12 Erich Giese,
Z2 Georg Thiele and 2 U-boats.

Being caught out of position by the British fleet led by Warspite, 5 operable destroyers including Z2 Georg Thiele charge out from Narvik harbor and engage their enemy but without much success.

Lacking ammunition forces the destroyers to retreat to the Rombaksfjorden, east of Narvik in an attempt to ambush pursuing enemy destroyers. Z2 Georg Thiele and Z18 Hans Lüdemann took up positions at Straumen narrow to give other destroyers time to scuttle themselves at the head of the fjord.

The pursuing destroyers first engage Z18 Hans Lüdemann and force her to retreat to the head of the forjd after exhausting her ammunition. They then switch their attention to Z2 Georg Thiele.

Z2 Georg Thiele landed the first hit when her torpedoes manage to blow off the HMS Eskimo bow but the return fire from the British badly damaged her and also started a fire forcing the ship to be beached.

In the burning ship

Everybody is trying to save their lives but as the British continue their bombardment, many suffer wounds and were killed. As the shipgirl, Z2 is running towards the exit, someone calls out to her.

"Ms. Z2, help me!"

An officer is trapped between the debris and Z2 immediately rushes towards him.

"Are you okay?"

"My legs! I can't feel my legs!"

Z2 immediately remove the debris and pull out the officer. As Z2 try bought the officer to safety, he says

"Ms. Z2, there are still more people trapped under that debris!"

"What about you? Can you make it out?!"

"Don't worry Ms. I can crawl out"

"Very well then. Stay safe"

Z2 then put the officer down as he crawls out while she runs back towards the debris. She closes her ears to hear and heard some voices asking for help. She pulls out some debris and finds a hole. Without hesitation, she went in to find the survivors but with just a few steps in,

BOOM!!!

An explosion occurs trapping her as the entrance fell. But, a split second before the entrance is fully closed, she can see a figure, tossing some grenades inside the ship detonating some parts. Shortly after that, she passes out after breathing too much smoke.

Outside of the ship

The survivors of Z2 Georg Thiele are heading inland to avoid being captured by the British. After getting them safe from their enemy's presence, one of them ask

"Hey! Where's our shipgirl, Z2?"

That questions make them realize that she is not among them. As they are trying to find some answer, one of them spoke

"She didn't make it out"

It's the officer that Z2 had saved. All of them were sad upon hearing that but, a few of them have wicked smiles on their faces.
