It was 4th period and I had only 20 minutes to be left in classs before school got over with. The day went great up until this time. I had just came from the bathroom and Sat back down In World Geography. Mr.fernandes Was Taking about how Culture diffusion Effects population and economy of a particular emviorment. My head was buried in the text book and I was completly focused. when mr.Fernandes Left to make make photo copes upstairs which left me with a classroom of teenages and 3 thugs. Kat , James And Gina approched me once again. I stood up and took my text book in my arms. "where's your little hero?" James Asked. I ignored and Turned around to get my binder. "whoa there slim, dont be in such a hurry, Gina grabbed my arm. "really? In the classrom? " I asked. "how low are we now? 6th grade? " he shook my head and backed up. "you know Im really getting tired of your mouth Leo" Gina said crumbling her fist. "you dont scare me." I looked at her and rolled my eyes. "Ha ha. Little leona finally grew some balls guys" She spat and her entire crew laughed just kissing her behind. "since Boyfriend Isnt here to take the beating then you'll Just have to pass it on!" she smirked and grabbed my neck pinning me up against the Dry erase board. I gasped for air and tried kicking her off when Kat pulled my leg from beneath me and I fell full force on my back. I looked to my left and Everyone just stared with a shocked look in their eyes. "help!" I said as i inhaled hesitantly. I James pulled his fist back and punched me in the eye with all his might 2 times in the same exact spot. I pulled him down by his electric yellow shirt and threw a few punchs but I couldnt see where I hit him because Kat was hovering over me just pulling my hair and punching me in my head. Kat was type to wear diamond rings all the time whereever she went so when she continuously punched me in the back of my head it felt like she was deating me with 2 or 3 rocks. I ended up feeling a stinging cut where she kept hitting and When i looked up at her hand motions she had blood all over her rings. I screamed and cried while trying to fight back but I felt as If everypne was enjoying the show and I was teh star of it. Finalyly I heard mr.Fernades yell "stop it!" when Kat and James got from over me and I lied there weak and helpless. I covered my face and Just bawled in my palms "All three of you to the Principals Office now!" He yelled helping me get up. They finally left and my face was still buried in my palms and I bloomed with embarrassment. "are you okay Leona?" Mr. Fernandes asked
"Im... Im Fine!" I yelled hesitantly and ran out. The bell rang just 2 minutes later and I sighed as I walked home. I wasnt In a mood to look at anyone nor listen to music. I was broken , There was no turning back this time. Not even love could save me. I walked in the door to go to my room and I changed from ym drenched bloody clothes just to get into the bath tub. I gasped as I stepped into the hot water and It singed my cuts and wounds. I sat down little by little to suit my comfort and just relax. "Im ready whenever you are god" I whispered leaning back and I sighed. "you cursed me with a hell life." I shook my head and I started splashing water on my face to take the make up off. "you cursed me god" I slouched and Heard footsteps cming up the stairs. The sound was more Of stomping and ramming Then Just walking, within just 30 seconds joseph walked in with a switch.
I stared at him in shock. "now... before you get this , tell me where you've been these last 2 days and why you missed your after school." he spat as he propped down on the toilet seat. " I slept over Chresanto's House " I covered my naked body. "And Who The hell Is that?' He asked standing up. "a friend." I responded. "oh so you spending the night over boys house huh?"
I looked up at him and shook my head. "daddy no. Nothing happend. I promis---" "SAVE IT!" he yelled cutting me off. "you want to be a woman Now? haha Ohh I'll treat you like a woman" He chuckled and Dropped the Switch, he reached for his pants and unbuckled his belt. I looked confused and backed up. "Joseph what are you doing?" I asked and He grabbed me by my arms and Pused me against the wall. "joseph stop it!" i screamed "Be a woman Leona and Take it!" He graoned and he entered. "Oh my god!" I screamed. "get off of me!!"
He looked up and slapped me. "keep your voice down little girl" He muttered and put his hand over my mouth. I started crying as I realized what he was doing to me. "help... Help!" I screamed in a muffled tone. and He kept thrusting inside. I started wailing in tears. "Nooo!!!" I screamed repeatidly and he continued against my will I stopped screaming as I lost my breath and he let me go just making me collaspe in the bath tub. "I.... Hate you!" i screamed and he smiled buckling up his pants and just tapped me on my cheek. "clean yourself up and get ready for school in the morning." He ordered me But I just cried after he left. "I hate life" I cried out in a airy tone. I stood up and grabbed a towel just wrapping it around myself and I put on a t-shirt and I let my hair air dry. I looked at my matress and Got down on my knees to prey. "dear god, If mamas beside you, Tell her I said Im coming home. Im tired of living here without her love. Ive been beaten and abused for 15 years now. It's time for me to come home. In Jesus name, Amen." I opened my eyes and Got off of my knees. It was about 10 pm when I peeked from my room to see if kim and joseph were asleep and Tehy were just hungover on the couch. I tip-toed Down the stairs and Grabbed the house phone and asprin pill to go upstairs with. I started to walk back up when I looked back to see if I woke either of the two but they were still asleep so i continued walking upstairs. I closed my door and Locked it quietly. "My purpose on earth was to leave a mark of who I was but instead People left marks on me so i wouldnt forget who they were. " I whispered to myself and Stared at the phone. I dialed Chresnato's number and he answered. "Hello?"
"hey santo.. I just want to say I love you." I told him as I got choked up all over again. but He knew something was wrong by the way I sounded. "Leona.. Are you okay?" he asked. "No. But I just want you to know that you'll find someone better then me. BAby Im only a prayer away." I whispered. "Leona what are you talking about? " He asked. I sighed and started crying. "Im about to overdose." I nodded and he paused. "No, You cant leave , not like this" He began. "Chresanto I've been away from happiness for too long. It's my time" I argued.
"Leona, Baby If you do this--" I ended up hanging up on him and looked at the asprin bottle. Each pill was 400 mg. "Im coming home" I nodded and wiped my last tear. I poured a hand full of asprin in ym hand and grabbed a water bottle to drink it all down. I ended up took over 16,000 mg Of Asprin and I idmediatly crawled out of the window and onto the side walk looking at the stars as My eyes got heavier and heavier. This was like the dream I had just last night. The pills I fell into were overdose pills I took to end my life. I sighed and Just when I was about to close my eyes Chresanto came running. "Leona!"

he yelled and rushed to my side. I didnt have enough breath to hold much of a conversation so I looked up at him with dazed eyes. "why?" He asked. "it's my time... It's just my time" I gasped and My eyes started closing slowly. "no! please Leona" His pleaded as Tears fell onto my palm and I closed my hand to embrace that moment. "I love you" I whispered and he cried harder. His voice got dimmer and dimmer and so did my vision as My life flashed before my eyes. From the moment I was born, to the moment I 1st and lastly laid eyes on my mother all the way to meeting Chresanto and Being abused by Kat, James and Gina and Now My time has come for happiness. I closed my eyes and I was gone, I died in Chresanto's arms. I felt my spirit leave my body and i looked down on Chresanto and there he was just sobbing away as I was craddled in his arms. I kissed his cheek spirtually and my mama came by my side. "ive been waiting for you" She said reaching out her hand to me. I smiled and Took her hand and we Flew away together like two Eagles In the sky Jsut beginning a new journey of happiness.
