As you all swam close to the village as you could get without Ao'nung's Tulkun being uncomfortable you let go and called for an ilu and signed back to them. 'I'll see you both later, bye!' You didn't wait for Ao'nung to sign back as your ilu came around fairly quickly. 'Bye, (Y/N).' But you could hear his Tulkun as you took off. When you got home everyone was there preparing except two brothers. You approached Kiri first and she caught sight of you. "Hey, there you are." You smiled, seeing her finishing up some of Tuk's chores who was getting her hair braided by her mother. "So how was it with just Ao'nung, right?" You'd spent enough time with Kiri to know when she was being judgemental and for some reason right now she was. "I was with Ao'nung and his Tulkun brother, yes." You helped Kiri clean the last of what you were all in the middle of doing yesterday. "And it was nice," Kiri looked at you, her face just as judgemental as her tongue. "You two didn't fight? Bicker even?" You shook your head, placing your item in its rightful place. "No, it was just a day of fun and laughter."

"Okay," Kiri sighed as she spoke, looking displeased with something. You went back to grab another item to put back seeing no one was using it next. "I'm glad you and Ao'nung are getting along." Mr. Sully appeared behind you, it shocked you at first but you knew he was in the home when you had gotten there. "Especially after I heard you landed a good one on his face." Right, you'd forgotten you were the one who gave him that bruise. "Sorry 'bout that, sir." He seemed to have grown softer around you recently after waking from your nightmare. "It's alright, as long as it doesn't happen again." You nodded, knowing that you wouldn't hit Ao'nung again... Unless it was an accident.

"Good," Mr. Sully showed you a smile and you were starting to feel the absence of the other boys. Without Lo'ak and Neteyam at home, things seemed a lot quieter mainly without Lo'ak. "So where are the boys?" Mr. Sully's face started to harden again, Lo'ak tended to worry him. "Hopefully with each other." But he worried less about his youngest son when Neteyam was with him. You however worried more, remembering all the stories you heard about Lo'ak dragging people into trouble. "Nu-uh! Neteyam and Lo'ak aren't together!" Your head turned to Tuk who was getting the last of her hair done.

"We saw Lo'ak with Tsireya earlier," Tuk spoke in a teasing tone, which was interesting considering she hadn't picked up on the idea of Lo'ak liking Tsireya until you pointed it out last night. "Huh..." You then moved over to where your ceremonial wear was, getting ready to put it back on. You thought about how you knew Lo'ak had a crush on Tsireya and she had one on him. But, then you started to think about you and Neteyam agreeing to court last night, what did courting exactly mean to the Na'vi? You wanted to know and after you changed and came out you tried picking up the conversation again. "Oh, (Y/N)," Neytiri was the one who beat you to speak. "You look wonderful, I should've told you yesterday." You were pretty sure by the time she saw you that she was just as tired. "Thank you." She had finished Tuk's hair and she was flocking around her Dad and Kiri. "Although you look like you could use a rebraid day two." Snickers were coming from Tuk, she was someone who wasn't eager for getting their braids redone.

"Maybe we could tomorrow." Neytiri's hand threaded through your hair, you were getting impatient about your question. "Does that sound good (Y/N)?" But the longer it took to ask the more nervous you got. "Uh, yeah sure..." And you were beginning to wonder if you should ask at all. "That'll work." Neytiri smiled at you and ushered you to help Tuk. "Good, now could you help Tuk get ready for the dinner celebration? And your shot was gone. "Yep..." You moved to where Tuk was. "Tuk, don't make (Y/N) do all your chores." Never mind, with Mr. Sully joining the conversation it gave you a small opening. "Mr. Sully?" You just had to go out and ask. "Yes, (Y/N)?" And out now. "What is the human equivalent to courting?" Everyone's heads turned with disarray. "Excuse me?" Mr. Sully was not expecting what you said and neither did Kiri as she stood frantically to approach you. "Did someone ask to court you?" You wondered if you could get away with the excuse of curiosity. "No, I was just wondering."

You could feel your shoulders build up in knots. "(Y/N)," Neytiri looked cross with you. "Did someone ask to court you?" Panic was everything that was running around in your head. But you had to be strong, you knew Neteyam would want his parent's approval before anything serious and you didn't know if he told them. "Nope." Neytiri had you by the shoulders, making it so you couldn't look away from her. "Maybe (Y/N) has some she wants to court." You could feel Tuk bouncing in place behind you as she delivered her suggestion with a joking tone. "Do you?" You didn't think Kiri had been any more interested in your personal life as she was now. "No, not me." Mr. Sully started to make his way through all of his girls to get to you. "Okay, let's give her some space." You could breathe a bit after Neytiri looked into your soul just before she let you go. You honestly thought you would crack if she held you for any longer.

"Awe, Dad!" Kiri pouted as Tuk giggled, all of them listening to Mr. Sully and backing away. "(Y/N), why are you asking?" You shrugged, starting to regret you brought it up. "I was curious about what dating here is like." You couldn't come up with anything better and you were starting to work up a sweat. It so sounded like you had someone in mind to court, and you did. "If you really want to know then I guess the equivalent is being engaged." You blinked a few times, trying not to give a strong reaction. "Okay, and when said people are courting, does it always lead to getting married- or mating?" You were trying to wrap your head around the concept. "It's a little more serious, mating is for life." Oh... OH! Interesting was all you could think as your lips curved up. "Understand?" You nodded and hummed quickly, responding fast.  "Yeah, I think I get it now." Jake shook his head as well, he very much looked like a Dad as he turned to ask you a question.

"You're not thinking of courting that Ao'nung guy?" Not him too! And Ao'nung!? Really? "Okay, I'm going to go find the boys so they can finish their chores." Protests erupted in the Marui from all the girls. "Oh, great mother not him." You wiggled your way out. "No,(Y/N), I need to know who!" Neytiri wasn't trying to get you to stay but Kiri and Tuk certainly were. "If it's not Ao'nung is it Rotxo?" Kiri scoffed at her sister while trying to keep you. "What no, if it's not Ao'nung it's probably 'Teyam." You kept your mouth shut as Kiri was distracted and turned out of the home. "(Y/N)!" As soon as you were out you started walking faster. "(Y/N), wait!" Then faster, "Kiri, I want to know!" Then you were bolting to get away, if they didn't think you were trying to court someone before they definitely did now. There was no arguing with them and Kiri's deduction skills were no joke.
