Fox Demon (kny x kitsune reader)

☀️{Chapter 20}☀️

"Senjuro get behind me."
Kyogiro ordered his little brother. The younger brother followed the elder's orders and stood behind him. Watching as the veins in his forehead stick out at the sheer concentration of his brother.

"Hehehehehe," another soft giggle could be heard, it was clear that Senjuro wasn't the only one that heard it. "Did you hear that?" Kyojuro spoke in a hushed voice, keeping his eyes glued to the figures in front of him. The smaller figure hiding behind the large one. "Yeah, it's the second time it happened."

Kyojuro just hummed in response, his usual bright expression no where to be seen, only a stern stare in its place.

"Senjuro I want you in the house now!" Kyojuro ordered as he swung his sword at the figures slicing right through their necks. Senjuro didn't protect even for a second and ran to the open shoji door. Getting inside he grabbed edge of the door and slammed it shut.

"Senjuro! What are you doing? I said get inside!" His older brother words confused the boy and he looked behind him to find his older brother there slash at the 2 unknown figures but it doing nothing.
'Wait I was just inside?'
The boy turned around and went back inside and closed the shoji door again. Only to fine himself at another open door around the corner of where he just came in.

'What on earth?' He thought at his strange situation.
"Hehehehe" And again there's a soft giggle but only a little louder.
But his eyes couldn't help but notice the tip of a fluff fiery red tail peaking out of a bush wagging its way to victory. So slowly and quickly, Senjuro tip-toed his way behind where the tail is.

<Kyojuro POV: >

I slash and cut at the two leaf figures with my sword. But it isn't doing anything, only cutting the leave in half as the figures move about as if they're puppets. I keep cutting at them as I hear crash of leaves and sticks. As the sound hits my ears, the leaf figures I was fighting, both collapse to the floor into a pile of leafs again.

"I found it!!"

The sound of an unusually happy Senjuro was heard. I run around the corner to find him standing there with a smile on his face as he was holding up a small deep red fox. The little animal's eyes were wide as plates, it's fiery red ears with wine red tip were pointed back, it's fluffy red tail was tucked under its body as Senjuro held it up from under its armpits, and a collar made of large red prayer beads.

"It's the one that was giggling! I think it made the leave move too!" My little brother spoke almost proudly at the fact that he caught the culprit.

"Do you think it's a demon?" He asked as I walk up to the two; sheathing my sword back on my belt.

"Hmmm," I take the little fox from Senjuro by picking the little creature up under the armpits. It still seemed completely shocked at being discovered, as it didn't even move a muscle. Looking at the furry friend carefully, I couldn't help but recognise it. I couldn't help but let out another hum and hold the fox out into the sun. As it's fiery fur seemed to glow like a blazing fire in the middle of a starless night as it soaked up the sunlight.

The little bundle of fur even started wagging it's tail again. That when it hit me!

"Oh I see now! Your that Kitsune that came flying in like a rock earlier today! Hahaha! You really gave me a startle there." I smile at my realisation, the Kitsune's perked up and it tail started wagging happily.

"Onii-Chan, you know this fox?" Senjuro understandably questioned. "Oh no! Not at all. But she came crashing down into the Hashira meeting this morning." I explain.

Bringing the little fox out of the sun, holding her in my left hand and gently leaning her back of my shoulder, her now facing Senjuro, her tail is now wrapped around my arm. Still wagging.

"Is it okay for me to pat her?" My shy brother asked quietly, I couldn't stop the laughter that came out after.
"I'm sure she'll let you know." I told him as I smiled at the little fox in my hand, still wagging her tail.
I watch as Senjuro slowly brings his hand to her head to try and pat it, only to be surprised with a lick on the hand. I really couldn't hold back the belly laugh I had at seeing him jump a few feet away from us.

She seemed pleased with the chaos she made, with the tip of her pink tongue sticking out of her mouth. Tailing starting to wagging in a circular motion like she was about to start flying.

"So Onii-chan, what are we going to do with her? It's not like we can keep her, if dad has to say anything about it." Senjuro said as he was steaming some rice, while I was chopping some vegetables, and little fox was sitting next to me holding the handle of a basket full of fresh vegetables in her muzzle. Very helpful.

"Don't worry I'll just have to bring her back to her friends, but for now she seems happy to help out around here." I proudly say with a smile as said little fox pushes me another carrot for me to peel.
