Making sure to walk away from Patrick as quick as possible, my brother and I moved through the corridors, doing an awkward-looking speed walk. Technically we weren't supposed to run, and what we were doing definitely wasn't running. I wasn't exactly sure what we were doing. I decided to slow down, and my brother did the same. After a couple minutes, we were at the lab. Not just any lab, our lab. We were right on time. Kelvin swiped his card, and the door unlocked."Well well well, look who's here." The man said. "The coffee is ready, and I know you need it. Without it you're pretty much useless." He joked, looking at Kelvin. That's our real friend, Kaiden. We've known each other for as long as we've worked here, about seven years. He introduced us to this place, and we've been friends ever since. My brother starting pouring his coffee, into a tall beaker that he kept in the lab. He took a large swallow of his coffee."Ah, much better." He said in a relaxed tone."I'm glad you feel better, because I have some important work for you." Kaiden said with a smirk on his face. My brother let out a loud, exasperating sigh, and took another sip of his coffee."What do I have to do?" He said reluctantly. "Oh, nothing special, all you have to do is some paperwork." He said nonchalantly. "He doesn't realize how boring paperwork is" I thought to myself. We hate paperwork, mostly because it takes forever. "This might not be so bad, maybe it's just a small pile" I said, hoping it will only take a few minutes. Kaiden took out a bright blue binder, and took out two stacks of paper each the size of a notebook. My brother facedesked. "You've got to be kidding me" My brother said, his voice being muffled by the table his face was buried in. "Seriously? This is gonna take a million years!"I said, irritated at the idea of sitting in a desk for that long.
"Don't shoot the messenger, I have to do this stuff too. It's really not that bad." Kaiden told us optimistically."I guess you're right, we should just get it over with."my brother mumbled. "What's this for, anyway?" I asked searching my desk for a pen."It's for the portal." He said.

He's pretty much useless with the coffee.I thought to myself.
