Letting out a snort, I close the distance between us and press my lips against hers in a quick kiss as my fingers tracing the sharp contour of her jaw and down the side of her neck. "It's not over, yet, you know. Your party is waiting for you inside."
Lizzie hums, leaning into my chest as she fights back a smile. "Is it bad that I just want to say 'fuck the party' and stay out here in this bubble with you forever?"
Using my nose I nudge her head to the side before peppering her neck with soft kisses. "No, because you in this dress is doing things to me, and I would love nothing more than to take you upstairs and rip it off you."
Lizzie lets out a shaky breath, her fingers digging into my hips. "We can just skip the party then."
Smiling against her soft skin I place one last kiss on the underside of her jaw before pulling back and stepping out of her grasp, much to her obvious annoyance as a frown settles on her face. "I think everyone will notice if the birthday girl isn't at her own party, babe."
I watch, amused as the blonde's jaw clenches. Ooh. Someone's definitely flustered. "I could literally give a fuck about what people would think right now."
"I'll make you a deal, then. We go inside, celebrate with our friends and later on tonight after everyone's gone we can do whatever you want."
The way Lizzie's frown slowly forms into a smirk both terrifies me and excites me at the same time. "Deal."
Shaking my head, because she's such a horndog, I hold my hand back out towards her with a smile. "Come on, my future wife."
The blonde laces our fingers together and I reach for the sliding glass door only to be jerked backwards and met by sparkling green eyes and Lizzie biting down on her bottom lip. "Say that again."
I feel my smile widen and duck my head down so I can place just the ghost of a kiss against her lips. "Alright, future wife, try to keep it in your pants."
Lizzie's goofy smile returns and I simply shake my head at her, tugging her into the house so that we can finally join in on the party, which by now is in full swing by the time we join everyone in the living room.
Besides our families, we also wanted to include everyone else in this moment, so that means our house is packed with just about everyone we know. Even the Marvel people are here, and it makes me smile to see our little odd group of misfits all joking around with each other. This time last year, I probably would have laughed if you told me I'd be friends with the people I'd only dreamt of meeting- especially if I'd been told that Lizzie and I would be where we are now. Happy and fucking engaged.
Lizzie and I make the rounds, with Lizzie receiving both birthday wishes and congratulations alike while I just tag along for the enjoyment. Although I am included on the congratulations part. I know I spend the next hour or two just watching Lizzie from across the room, silently observing the way she smiles and laughs with our friends and family, and I find myself falling that much more in love with her for every second that passes. She just looks so happy, and I catch her staring down at the ring on her left hand more than once or happily showing it off to anyone who asks to see it.
I can't fucking wait to marry that woman.
"I hope you know I'm in charge of taking pictures and I got a super cute one of you annoyingly staring at her."
I tear my eyes away from my fiancee to see Olivia sliding up to me, holding her phone out so I can see the picture in question. Sure enough the teenager managed to capture my obvious staring in a photo that's meant to capture the room as a whole. "Make sure you send that to Lizzie."
