But to achieve success, one needed a sophisticated mind
And a harmonious approach to avoid being left behind
Penalty was a punishment, a tool to maintain control
To banish wrongdoers and make society whole
Tranquil moments were rare amidst the frustration and disease
And sometimes, even the most robust succumbed to seize
The sailor's memory carried tales of volcanic eruption
And the mellow coffee aroma that filled every sailor's cup in function
For coffee was a language that helped overcome overwhelming strife
And forbid the infectious diseases that threatened their life
The veil was a symbol of tradition, of cultures intertwined
A vision of beauty and modesty that many women defined
But as society evolved, so did the analysis of these customs
Provoking change and obligation to cast off the old assumptions
And so, we move forward, not forgetting our historical past
Taking steps to eradicate disease, our future to last
No longer pawns in the game of life, we sail towards a brighter tomorrow
Leaving behind the kaput ways, embracing a future without sorrow.
