Chapter Forty-Seven

"I have to go back to Manila for
two days."

My mood suddenly deflated. I
loosened my hug, prompting him
to explain why he was leaving,
"I left some urgent work and August
25 is an important date for Hyon. I
need to be there for her.... Is that
okay?"

I wasn't sure what was happening
on that date but his sister needed
him. I understood that. Family
comes first. Still, that didn't mean
I couldn't be bummed about it.

"You'll come back after?" I
dejectedly gazed at him.

"I will. Kuya Xavi assigned me here for an annual evaluation." He raised a brow. He knew it was all my doing.

I snickered. "Your Kuya Xavi was
very supportive."

"He's also always right." He
smirked, like he recollected a fond
memory.

Hades stayed with me in my room
until the last minute. I was even
contemplating ditching the taping
but Emma personally fetched me
from my room on the dot.

I hated being separated from him
again. I wanted to sulk about it,
but I chose to look at the brighter
side. We were okay again. Nothing
else mattered.

My optimistic disposition got me
through the day. It also helped that Hades was replying to me again. It got me into a chirpy mood that everyone noticed it.

Jared even gave me a snarky
comment, "Enjoyed your wine?"

It got me flushing because it sounded like he knew what happened last night, when he was just trying to be a smartass.

When night time came, Hades
surprised me with a video call. I missed our late night video calls, seeing him topless in his bed brought back old memories. Remembering our past used to hurt, but know I just looked forward to reliving it again.

We talked about our days and once
that was exhausted. he told me
about what happened to Hyon and
how it affected the whole family.

It reminded me of his story about
Laurene before. It seemed to be that way for them. Kapag hindi okay ang isa sa kanilang magkakapatid, apektado ang lahat.

"I still can't believe that Orion fell
for Hyon." I was still shaking my
head in disbelief.

"I don't think he really fell in love
with her. I think he only liked the
idea of Hyon. She inspired him to
be better."

Hadeon looked like he put a serious thought in it. A playful thought suddenly crossed my mind.

"Hindi ka ba kinakabahan?"

"Saan?"

"He's crossing off every available
Serrano. Maybe you're next on his
list."

He scoffed. "I'm already taken."

"So if you're not, you would
consider it?"

"Baby." He gave me a warning look.

I laughed. "Hey, I won't judge. I'll love you in any shape, size, or orientation."

Napangiti si Hades. Seeing his smile tickled me. "You're getting used to saying that."

"Why? Are you tired of hearing it?"

"Never, baby," lumambing ang
boses niya.

Waking up with a text from Hadeon to greet me good morning was second to best. The best one is still waking up beside him.
