Forever With You: Part One

Start from the beginning

We also end up stopping by a salon and spend a few hours there. I've been meaning to re-dye my hair for a while, back to its natural color now that I don't have to worry about filming any more Wanda scenes for the foreseeable future and decide to do it today. When in Rome, right?

By the time it reaches late afternoon I feel like my feet are going to fall off because of how much we've walked. I frown as the others seem to keep stalling me for whatever reason, since this is the third time I've requested that we call it a day and it was denied.

"I don't understand, why can't we just go home?"

The twins share a look, no doubt doing that annoying weird twin telepathy thing that they do, and I catch Scarlett furiously texting someone when she thinks I'm not looking. By now I've started to grow very suspicious about this whole thing, but no one is too keen on spilling the beans if indeed there is something going on.

Finally, after what feels like hours later, Scarlett agrees with my most recent plea to head home. I don't know what the hell is wrong with everyone today, but as of right now I just want to go home, get through this party and cuddle with my love. That's all I want, and I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm just not feeling it today.

When we arrive back at the house, I frown when I realize there's not a single car in the driveway, not even my own. "I thought we were all supposed to be having dinner together here?"

"We are. I guess everyone just parked down the street or something. Or they're just not here yet?"

Shaking my head, I gather my bags and start to head into the house, recalling that Y/N said the party was supposed to start at seven and it's currently almost seven-thirty, only to be stopped by Scarlett's hand on my elbow. I frown again, fixing to start demanding that someone give me some answers as to why the hell everyone is acting so weird when the blonde gives me a small smile. "I was hoping I could help you get ready for the party and maybe we could talk."

I chalk my suspicions up to my already high anxiety levels and nod. I'm probably just reading way too much into every single detail, like I do when I sometimes feel overwhelmed by my emotions. "Yeah, sure, Scar."

I let the older woman lead me up the stairs and into mine and Y/N's bedroom, ignoring my siblings and Liv as they wander off farther into the house to go do only god knows what. I pause upon entering the room, noticing the garment bag that's been laid out across our bed.

There's a note folded on top of it and I instantly move to pick it up, smiling to myself when I recognize Y/N's familiar handwriting.

I hope you don't mind, but I got you something special to wear tonight.

- Love, Y/N

I capture my bottom lip between my teeth as my heart flutters upon reading the note, holding it against my chest just for a moment before I carefully place it down on my bedside table to put away at a later date. I'm definitely going to add it to all the sweet little notes that Y/N has left me in the past, and move to unzip the garment bag, only to feel my jaw drop open at the contents inside.

The dress is beautiful, to say the very least. It's a sequin dress that's colored a particularly dark shade of black, that seems to almost ripple into different shades of blue and purple when the sequins catch the light, and upon pulling the gown out of its protective holder I also realize that it's floor length with a slip up the left side. It's definitely a little much for just a dinner party with our friends and family, but I do remember having that little breakdown with Y/N this morning. There's no doubt she's going over the top to try and prove her earlier point, and I find it endearing and smile to myself.
