Episode 15

Joe's eyes moved from Demi's to the floor taking in a deep breath. He didn't quite understand what was going on, why Demi had a boyfriend and why it had taken her this long to tell him. He had no idea, neither of them have never really dated and certainly not in a relationship which lasted nearly six months. Demi was the one who spoke again after a couple of moments of Joe staying quiet, she wanted to let him take it all in.

"I just want you to know what nothing will change, you'll always be my best friend and no guy will ever change that I promise," Demi added in but Joe just nodded his head. "Are you okay?" Demi questioned worried about his expression.

"I'm fine, happy for you." Joe managed to choke out it sounding normal and as if he was actually happy for her. He couldn't ruin this for her, she seemed to make her happy and that's all he wanted for her. For her to be happy and if this Aaron guy did it for her rather than he did then he would have to back off and hope that his feelings will change for her.

"Are you sure?" Demi questioned biting her lip gently.

"I'm sure, he sounds nice." Joe stated.

"He is and I'm sure you can  meet him sometime soon, I've told him all about you and he was the one who managed to find me the journalism job." Demi explains.

"Congrats by the way," Joe managed to crack a small smile as she leaned up kissing his cheek. "I'm tired though, I'm gonna head to bed." Joe got up without saying another word his phone in his pocket as he trudged up the stairs heading into his room. Demi sighed as she leant back on the couch running her fingers through  her hair.

"How did he take it?" Eddie questioned as he entered the room seeing that Joe was gone, he took Joe's space wrapping his arm around his daughter.

"I think he took it well, I'm not sure." Demi leaned on him smiling when Eddie kissed her head.

Joe was laid on his bed not even trying to stop the tears from rolling down his cheeks. He wanted more than anything to tell Demi how he really felt about her but he couldn't not now that she was with another guy. He wanted the best for her and always will but he couldn't help but wonder what this guy has that he doesn't. They grew up with each other, they knew everything about each other and he couldn't help but think maybe if he hadn't have come to live with her and her father at all maybe she would see him in a different light rather than a brother. He didn't want to cry over her but he couldn't help it. His mind went to his mother who should be comforting him right now but she was dead and his father was sat in prison paying the price for what someone else did.

 It wasn't long until he was called and ended up in a field opposite the guy who could control the weather using his hands.

"What are you supposed to be?" He guy questioned laughing at what he was wearing.

"Scarlett Streak!" Kenny screamed through his ear piece but Joe didn't even crack a smile from the name, he had too much on his mind.

"I'm here to stop you." Joe stated.

"Good luck with that." He replied rising his hands up to his waist, he generated a tornado something like they saw on the CCTV when they watched it back at the lab but it was much bigger probably because they were outside. Joe looked up as if started coming towards him

"What am I supposed to do?!" Joe questioned the people who were on the other side of his earpiece but the tornado got to close and swallowed him up.

"Joe?!" Caitlin screamed through the microphone.

She got no reply.
