RWBY: Corrupted Save File

Part #22. - Evolution.

"He's a genius." Saffron said, his eyes practically glowing. "Velvet, pay attention to Mercury's moves. I want to learn them." He told the Faunus without taking his eyes off of the fight.
"O-Okay." Velvet said, a little taken aback.

Mercury continued his acrobatic dance, weaving between Coco and Yatsuhashi with ease, never letting them land an impactful hit. He distracted the two with a pair of shots from his boots, and when they looked away for that moment, he had begun breakdancing, shooting countless projectiles out of his boots and having them spin around him. Even the air around Mercury seemed to dance with him.

Mercury sent the storm of projectiles toward Coco and Yatsuhashi, causing a cloud of dust to envelop them. In that instant, he moved behind them and just when the dust began to settle, he grabbed their wrists and wrenched them towards either side of himself. He maintained the perfect amount of distance and sent a powerful kick at Yatsuhashi, releasing him to send him away, while he focused on a concentrated assault against Coco's head. Coco was then wrapped up in chains and dragged into the forest portion of the arena. Mercury focused his efforts on Yatsuhashi, but the behemoth-of-a-man grabbed Mercury by the throat and threw him into a water geyser environment. Yatsuhashi jumped after Mercury and prepared to slam his greatsword down on him, but Mercury was quicker. He brought his legs up and caught the blade with the soles of his boots. The force from the impact sent all water on the arena off of the platform.
Mercury jumped onto his feet and tried to sweep Yatsuhashi's legs. Yatsuhashi avoided the attack, but he was forced into a defensive role for the rest of the fight.

Mercury's fighting style was performing at the same level as Saffron's ideal. Mercury missed a kick targeted at Yatsuhashi, but the broken ground flew up, and just as Saffron had thought to use the rocks in the air to attack, Mercury had already shot his leg forward and hit Yatsuhashi in the shoulder with the rock.
It didn't take long after that for Yatsuhashi to get knocked out. Coco met a similar fate against Emerald. Emerald and Mercury's victory was by a landslide, that much was clear.

"Coco...?" Velvet said, covering her mouth.

Fox placed a hand on Velvet's shoulder and offered some words of encouragement through his telepathy.
Saffron leaned back in his chair. His eyes still concentrated on the arena, although it was empty.

"I want to crush him." The boy said with a grin on his face.

After paying Coco and Yatsuhashi a visit after the battle, Saffron had dragged Velvet towards one of the training rooms inside of Beacon.

"Like this?" The boy asked, his leg raised and extended.
"No-- You need to go a bit higher." Velvet said. She grabbed onto Saffron's leg and raised it a bit higher.

"Ow, ow, ow-- Okay it's fine." He said, his legs burned from stretching further than he was used to.

Saffron was taking advantage of Velvet's ability to perfectly reproduce people fighting styles. Her semblance allowed perfect copies of fighting styles, mannerisms, and anything to do with body language.

"I must say, you're getting this a lot faster than I expected." Velvet told the boy.
"Thanks." Saffron said, although he wasn't completely sure what she meant, so it was kind of a hollow appreciation.

Saffron lowered his leg and then hopped in place a few times.
"Okay. I'm ready to run it again." He said to Velvet.

The two faced each other and raised their fists, their stances were identical... because they were both copying Mercury.
"The stance feels a little off." Saffron commented.
