It was the first of July 1968. A chilling story was about to be unfolded, a story so horrible it would destroy a family and leave everlasting wounds on countless lives. This was the story... no, the case of the Wests family in Mellohi Manor.
Mellohi Manor was sat in front of a gorgeous lake, with swans bobbing up and down on the lapis lazuli-coloured water, its dark and brooding blue is quite fitting for this dark day. The gardens of the manor are kept extremely clean, with only the most beautiful flowers decorating the clean-cut tree and bush works, with grand archways of greenery above the pathways. The manor itself is extremely large, housing 12 main bedrooms with a vast array of smaller ones for the maids, chefs, garden crew, guards, showmen and all the other people that were being paid to be there. The wedding was to take place all around the house but where Frederick and Rose would be presented as husband and wife would take place in one of the three vast ballrooms the manor had; Tables and chairs of only the most expensive sort, with lavish table cloths and only the most costly alcohol money can buy. A massive arch over the pedestal at which the clergy would stand. A huge chandelier with pure golden frames hung above the entire room.
The bride, Rose was a typical 'perfect child'. She plays a lot of instruments, she looked absolutely stunning, Slshe was incredibly intelligent. She was always under stress of not meeting expectations, she had an extremely strict family, and you can't forget that she has little to no control in her life. She was the golden crop of the family, the prized boar in a sense. This marriage, like most things in Rose's life, was forced, as a means for the Waltons and Wests to get closer. They were already in multiple business partnerships so this marriage was more like a family get-together then anything else. Frederick was a total geek, he had the highest IQ of anyone even remotely related to the family, he had multiple extremely successful businesses and had made groundbreaking contributions and discoveries. He even had an entire greenhouse the size of an average warehouse just for his 'minor' experiments. He was most definitely one of the richest people in the family, if not the world. He had a net worth which was 10 fold bigger than the average net worth of a West. Now then, Let's see the marriage:
The day was in full swing and drinks had been drunk. The spectacular moment was about to begin. It was dark, yet clear skies. Perfect for the tens of thousands of pounds worth of fireworks, which was pretty much pocket money, it was about to happen and everyone was watching, Rose had made her spectacular walk and now was awaiting Frederick. Miss Rose stood waiting and waiting, there was no sight of him when asked, no one had seen him. Was the groom late? No, that wouldn't be like him. He was, of course , the family's "nerd". Always reading, correcting people, and always on time. So where was he? Nervous? Possibly. He wasn't really a gentleman - let alone a people's man, and so William, becoming restless went to go check on his favourite son. He walked out of the main hall, going past friends and family, down the main corridor and then ending where Frederick's dressing room was, William grabbed the handle and began to open it. The door creaked open. William peered inside...pitch black, he couldn't make out anything. "Frederick?" William shouted. Maybe he fell asleep, that would be unlikely of him but it was a possibility. William walked in, hoping to find the light switch on his way.
Frederick was a bit weird, to say the least, when it came to lighting, "For God's sake Frederick, dozing off at a time like this, oh you won't hear the rest of this!" William spoke as he walked into the room, stumbling over the many objects scattered across the floor. For someone so uptight...he was shockingly messy. Near the centre of the room William bumped into something out of the ordinary even in Frederick's case, he wouldn't leave something hanging about like this. William, now annoyed by his child's habit, circled the edge of the room till he finally managed to find the light switch.
Flip!
William turned around, hoping to spot Frederick on his bed but no, there he was...Dead. Hanging from the chandelier. His body slowly swayed from left to right, his skin cold to the touch, fully clothed in his luxurious attire. William fell to his knees. His mouth wide open, his eyes forgetting how to blink and he stayed that way for 3 whole seconds just processing what he was seeing, before letting out the most bloodcurdling scream to ever be heard. People rushed to see what could have possibly happened to make such a noise. Upon seeing Frederick, they all made the exact same noise...
