Chapter Twenty Five

Mavis’s P.O.V
It was another day and the weather was getting warmer and after classes were over for the day, I had gone with Harry, Ron and Hermione to go and see Hagrid and as soon as we stepped outside, Hermione had spoken up, “beautiful day.” she said to us, “gorgeous. Unless of course you weren’t ripped to pieces.” Ron said to her, “Ripped to pieces? What are you talking about?” Harry questioned, “they’ve been at it for ages.” I said to him, “Ronald has lost his Rat.” Hermione said, “I haven’t lost anything. Your cat killed him.” Ron told her, “Rubbish.” she said, “Harry, Mavs you both have seen the way that blood thirsty beast of hers is always lurking about. And Scabbers is gone.” Ron said to us, “or maybe you should learn to take better care of your pets.” Hermione said to him, “she’s got a point you know.” I said to Ron, “I thought you were on my side.” he said to me, “I’m not on anyone’s side. I’m just saying what I feel.” I told him as we continued to make our way to Hagrids and by the time we got there, the four of us found him at the Lake and went over to see how he was doing, “how did it go, Hagrid, the Hearing?” Hermione asked him, “well, first off, the committee members took turns talking about why we were there. and then I got up and did my piece, said how Buckbeak was a good Hippogriff. Always cleaned his feathers. And then Lucius Malfoy got up, well you can imagine, he said Buckbeake was a deadly and dangerous creature who would kill you as soon as he looked at you” Hagrid told us, “and then?” I asked him, “and then he asked for the worst, did old Lucius.” Hagrid said, “They're not sacking you?” Ron asked, “no I'm Not sacked. Buckbeak's been sentenced to death.” Hagrid said to us as he dropped the remaining rocks that he had in his hands and I felt bad for him, “of course they’d listen to them. All because they have money and they’re able to persuade them to give them what they want.” I said to them, “that’s a big part of it.” Hagrid said to me and we stayed to make sure that he was going to be alright before we decided to head back to the Castle for the rest of the day. By the time we made it back to the Castle, we talked about what Hagrid was going through for a while and I felt bad for him knowing how much Buckbeak meant to him and I wanted to do something about it and I decided to write to mom and dad about it along with the whole Animagus situation and after sending it off with my owl, I had gone to Professor McGonagall about the Animagus and by the time I got there, the both of us continued with where we left off and we had gotten a little farther than before and I managed to get the mandrake Leaf out of my mouth and after doing so, she had put it in a dark place for the time being. After spending time with Professor McGonagall, 

Later that night, I couldn’t sleep as I was too excited about becoming an Animagus and I was eventually brought out of my thoughts when I felt someone sit down next to me and I saw that it was Fred and he both of us talked for a while before I got tired and the both of us had decided to go to bed for the night. After talking with Fred for a while I had gone to my dorm for the night and once I walked into the room, I got into bed for the night and as soon as my head touched the Pillow, I quickly fell asleep for the night. It was the next day and it the Process of becoming an Animagus was almost over and I was getting excited and since Exams were almost here, I’ve been spending most of my time in the Library and after a while had passed, I decided to take a break and I left the Library for a while and went for a walk before I ended up outside and at the Black Lake and I sat down on the ground and leant against a tree and let out a sigh as everything that’s been going on throughout the year had gone through my head before I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Fred speak up, “do you mind if I sit here?” he asked me, “yeah sure. No one important is sitting there.” I told him before he sat down, “I’ve noticed you already started studying for your exams.” he said to me, “yeah, I wanted to get a head start I guess.” I said to him, “I’m sure you’re not the only one. I have no doubt that Granger is doing the same thing.” he said and the both of us laughed a little, “yeah, it’s more her thing if you think about it.” I told him and the both of us laughed a little and the both of us continued to talk for a while before we had gone back inside for the time being since it was nearly dinner time and when it was time for dinner, I spent most of the time talking with Fred and George and they were talking about the Pranks they may do next year and they also cracked a few jokes as well and they managed to make me laugh throughout dinner. After dinner was over, we all went back to our Common Rooms for the night and by the time I made it to the Gryffindor Common Room with Fred and the other’s, I sat alone as I began to think about the whole Animagus situation and how long it might take if I want to do it correctly before Hermione sat down in front of me, “what’s on your mind?” she asked me, “the whole Animagus Process. I just hope it goes the way I hope it will.” I told her, “I’m sure it will. I’m just surprised it’s going as fast as I thought it would. But I guess it’s different for everyone when they become one.” she told me, “I suppose you’re right.” I told her, “I’ve noticed you’ve started studying for Exams.” she said to me and I nodded, “yeah, I have. I wanted to get a head start on it.” I told her, “me too. I started yesterday. We should study together and we can maybe quiz each other on certain things.” she said to me, “yeah, that would be nice. We should do the same with Harry and Ron.” I told her and the both of us talked about it before we had done our own thing for the rest of the night before eventually going to bed later that night but I couldn’t fall asleep as I just stared up at the ceiling for a while as I smiled to myself about the Animagus as I was excited about it as I began to think of what I might turn into and began to hope that it was something with wings or some kind of dog like a wolf and after a while of thinking to myself, I began to feel tired and finally managed to fall asleep later that night.

It was another day and an I finally managed to go to Professor McGonagall for the final time as we managed to get past the Electrical Storm and by the time I met with Professor McGonagall outside, she explained to me what I should do before I did what she needed me to do and after doing so, I had noticed that my view was lower than it used to me and I looked around before I noticed that I had a tail before hearing Professor McGonagall speak up, “you’ve managed to turn into a wolf dear. A rather beautiful one at that.” she said to me before she explained what to do to change back and after doing so, I did what she said and I felt myself change back into myself.

After I finally became an Animagus, I was beyond happy about it and decided to tell Hermione about it and when I found her in the Library, I sat down next to her, “I heard you went to see Professor McGonagall, how was it?” she said to me, “I’m finally an Animagus.” I told her, “brilliant. What did you turn into?” she said to me, “a wolf.” I told her, “That's amazing. I’m glad it went successfully.” she told me, “me to” I said to her and the both of us continued to talk about it for a while before heading to the Common Room. by the time we had gotten there, we sat with Harry and Ron for a while, “we were thinking of going to see Hagrid tomorrow. Do you guys want to come with us?” Harry said to us, “yeah sure. Considering what he has to go through tomorrow.” I said to him, “yeah, I feel really bad.” Hrmione said to us, “if Malfoy didn’t do what he did that day, none of this would have happened if he’d just listened to what Hagrid was saying.” I said to them, “I agree.” Ron said and the four of us continued talking about it for a while before Hermione switched the topic, “you should tell them what happened earlier with Professor McGonagall.” she said to me and I thought about it for a moment before I remembered what she was talking about, “what is she talking about?” Harry asked me, “yeah, what did you do with McGonagall?” Ron asked me, “I managed to become an Animagus.” I told them, “you’re joking?” Ron asked me and I shook my head, “that’s bloody brilliant.” he said to me and I chuckled a little, “what did you turn into?” Harry asked me, “a white wolf.” I told him and they kept asking questions about it for a while before we had gone to dinner and spent the rest of the night together before eventually going to bed later that night.
