"I'm really glad you like it. A lot of people think my music taste is strange. But I think it's crazy how you and I listen to the same stuff, like to the tee."

Growing bashful, I smiled and extended my arm to sneak around her waist and pull her into me. I bit my lip before tenderly connecting our lips,

"Hmm, I like you. You're cool, I guess." She giggled whilst pushing me away,

"Shut up, you ass-" A dramatic gasp drew within me and a hand of mine flew to my chest,

"Why, I never-" Lauren laughed harder as she went to sit on her bed.

Letting my eyes wander around some more, I spotted a beautiful record player sitting on the desk. My eyes widened,

"Oh my god, you have one of these too?!" Ambling up to it, I glanced back at her for a split second, then focused my attention back on it.

"Yup and use that hoe everyday too." A low chuckle stemmed under my breath,

"Same.....can you play something?" I softly asked, turning to her again.

A smirk grew subtly across her face,

"Of course, what you wanna hear?"

"Surprise me."

Walking over to where I stood, Lauren arched an eyebrow, "You sure? No genre or certain vibe requests?" Trying to hide my smile, with closed eyes, I shook my head.

She let out a sigh of amusement. "Alright, if you say so shawty."

Daniel Caesar's 'Japanese Denim' now resonated throughout the room. I smiled at Lauren upon hearing it. This song is one of my all time favorites. My grin only grew wider as she stood from the library of vinyls that were under the desk and met my eyes. Assuming she was getting nervous, her eyes diverted away from mine. My eyebrows furrowed,

"Why do you keep doing that?"

"Doing what?" Lauren began walking toward her bed again, but I gently grabbed her hand and pulled her back to face me before she could get too far. My other hand familiarly snuck around her waist.

Sucking air between her teeth as I did so, her eyes trickled to the floor.

"Everytime I look at you, you look away. Like you're doing right now," I said, using the curve of my index finger to lift her chin so she'd accompany my gaze. "Why is that?" A soft smile appeared on her face,

"Because you- you have this-"

"This what?" I arched an eyebrow, keeping my gaze upon Lauren's hazel eyes. She bit her lip,

"That-" a breath of air eluded her and she hung her head for a moment before looking back up at me. "Keeping eye contact with you for more than five seconds gets me really nervous. Like I genuinely forget how to breathe sometimes."

Quite amused because I honestly felt the same way, but apparently was just better at hiding it, I giggled,

"That intense huh?"

"Shut up-" she laughed, drawing her bottom lip between her teeth and leaning into me. It prompted my breathing to hitch, feeling her this close. The smile she wore faded upon noticing my enticing stare.

At this point, 'Mirrors' by Justin Timberlake had begun to play as Lauren and I stood in each other's arms, gazing into each other's eyes. This time, neither of us were nervous or shy. It seemed like neither of us could look away either. Closing my eyes as she leaned into me, the expectation of her lips soon touching mine arose. When they didn't, my eyes fluttered open, finding that hers had remained shut.
