"Clear." One if the guards say nodding his head at me for an OK to go in. Good. That took up most my time.
As I open the doors, there's a good 20 people in line. Great. I sigh and get behind a lady and my wait starts.
---------After waiting--------
I finally get to the front desk and asked to see Bailey. It was 12:15pm and never have I ever been late but today hasn't been on my good side.
"Sorry sir, you we're suppose to be 15 minutes ago, we have a--"
"Strict policy about being on the dot when you have a appointment, I know know, but I got up a little late, can I please just go?" I say calmingly just wanting to see my girlfriend for god's sake. The lady sighs, "Go ahead, young man."
"Thank you." I smile brightly at her and I can see her blush, kind of have that affect on people. I go to the elevator just right of me and hit the fifth floor. The door open and there was an old man in there. He looked pretty bad, dirty clothes, looked like he hasn't showered in months. I got in the elevator and ignored the intimidating smell the man had. It was an awkward elevator ride that seemed like forever but we eventually got on the 12th floor.
I let the man go first and his creepy grey eyes stared deep at me as he turned around. I looked around confused then he gives me a note. I don't really know why I took it but it was just a feeling of curiosity. He came a little closer and leaned in.
"You've been warned." His low creepy voice says as he backs away and goes off to the left of the hall. I stood in the hall for a second still confused. I then look down open the note and it read, "They're coming, there's nothing we can do, just... SURVIVE."
The word 'survive' was written and something, but I was pretty sure it was blood. I quickly through the note away and speed walked to the right where Bailey's room is. Shivers ran through me of how creepy that is but I just ignored it as I neared Bailey's room. There were her parents just coming out of the room. They smiled as they saw me and I returned with a smile and hugged them.
"Hello Bryan! It's so nice to see you." Bailey's mom says as we all pulled from the hug.
"How is she?" I say not purposely trying to be rude.
"Well we're fine, thanks son." Bailey's dad says signaling I should've asked about them.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just so anxious to see her, I didn't mean to be late."
"Haha we get it," he says patting my back, "And she's doing a lot better but it seems like she's still gonna be in a coma for a little more while." The last part stuck. A little more while? We could barely take her being in a coma for 2 weeks and how long will it be now? 4 weeks? 20? Months? Years?
"But she'll be back soon, right?" I say as I look at them. Their heads were down than Bailey's mom comes up and pulls me in for a hug.
"It's not that simple, Bryan. But we have to keep praying and hoping she'll come back. Bailey's strong, we all know that and we're not giving up on her any time soon, okay?" She states as her hands are on my shoulders at this point. I said a quiet 'yeah' wishing things could be that simple. They both give me a slight smile and head to their seats as I walk in to see my girlfriend hopelessly lying on the hospital bed. Ugh, this has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life, seeing her like this, hoping her beautiful bright blue eyes open up.
I sit next to her on the bed, grabbing her hand. I always have a lost of words when it comes to speaking with her. It's either I become repetitive or just go blank.
"So, it looks like we're here again. Dark. Creepy. Hospital room. You know you used to hate hospital rooms? Ha, I remember back in eighth grade, every time we visited kids here at the hospital, you would be creeped out by every little thing we passed. It's really funny cause you would have a tight grip on my hand and I would say "It's just a hospital." And you would just be like "Shut up Bryan." I laughed at the good memory but then something just came over me.
"But then, when we were with the kids. Oh, you loved being around those kids. You would have the brightest smile on your face. You would sing with them, play with them even dance with them. And them? They loved you. Those kids were so happy it was almost like they didn't have Leukemia. God, I wish we could bring those times back." ... That's when I lost it.
"Bailey, please. Please jut get through this, your strong and brave and can overcome anything. I've seen you through bad times and times even worse. But you can get through this. Come on. I believe in you. I love you." I put my head down letting it all come out for a little. I then cleared up and wipe the tears off my face and gave her a kiss on the cheek. I then cuddled up in the bed beside her not even caring if I was suppose to leave and fell asleep right next to her.
---------------2 Hours Later---------------
I wake up to a huge explosion. I jump up from my sleep and look around to see what it was. It was outside the hospital room I see people and even patients running through halls. Then I see some of the FBI coming through backwards with their shields out they were shooting at things I'd never would have thought existed.
They were shooting at zombies...
-------------The End------------
This is where it gets good. 😏😏
