"Oracle": Magic?
"Dakota": (*she gets on her knees*) Please, please, please!
"Oracle": Okay, little one. Perhaps there is a way I can help.
"Dakota": Oh, wonderful!
"Oracle": Bring me a pair of white gloves-
"Dakota": (*she pulls off her gloves*) Okay!
[Cut to the hospital.]
Pearl: (*she giggles*)
Darrow and Nurse: Oh, now it's making sense.
[Cut back to the story.]
"Oracle": Whoa, I'm not finished! I need a pair of white gloves from someone who's never been sick.
"Dakota": Never been sick?
"Oracle": Never been sick.
"Dakota": Oh.
"Oracle": Have you ever been sick?
"Dakota": Oh, yes. I had a runny nose last year.
"Oracle": Well, it will have to be someone else's white gloves, I'm afraid.
"Dakota": (*she slips on her gloves and picks up Evan*) No problem! I'll get some from someone in town. We'll be right back!
"Oracle": (*as Dolly runs out*) Good luck, Dakota!
[The scene cuts to the toy produce stand.]
"Dakota": Shopkeeper! The wise old Oracle's gonna help my puppy! I just need a pair of white gloves.
"Shopkeeper": Sure! I'll give you anything if it helps Bumpy. (*He pulls off his gloves and hands them to Dolly*) There you go.
"Dakota": Thanks. (*she takes the gloves and turns, but stops*) Wait. I forgot to ask. Have you ever been sick?
"Shopkeeper": Sick? Oh. Well, yes. I've got...
[The camera suddenly zooms in on Lips's face as dramatic music plays.]
"Shopkeeper": Hair nits!
[Cut to the hospital.]
Pearl: (*she gasps*)
Darrow: Ewww! Good grief!
Nurse: (*she laughs*)
Pearl: (*quietly*) She can't use those gloves.
[Cut to the story.]
"Dakota": Oh, okay. Thanks anyway. (*she gives the gloves back to Lips before running off*) I'll have to try someone else.
"Shopkeeper": Good luck!
Duncan: (offscreen) And cut!
[Lips then scratches his scalp. The scene cuts back to Faith, the baker lady. The vase is replaced with an upside-down hat. Dolly runs in with Evan.]
"Dakota": Baker lady, have you ever been sick?
"Baker Lady": Yes. I was sick yast lear.
[BEEP]
"Baker Lady": I was sick yast lear?
[BEEP]
"Baker Lady": I was sick last week.
"Dakota": Oh.
"Baker Lady": I had rabies!
[Cut to the hospital. The nurse and Darrow are both laughing.]
Darrow: What?!
[Cut back to the story.]
"Dakota": Okay, no. I can't use your white gloves. Thanks, baker lady.
"Baker Lady": Bye, Dolly!
"Dakota": (offscreen) Dakota!
[The scene cuts to Charlie fishing. Dolly's talking is inaudible and Charlie shakes her head. It then cuts to Dylan and he shakes his head too.]
Dolly: [voiceover] Dakota kept trying. But she couldn't find a single person that's never been sick.
[The scene cuts to the front steps. Dolly sadly sits down on the stairs with Evan in her lap.]
"Dakota": Oh, I can't find a single pair of white gloves from someone who's never been sick. It's not fair...! (*she then gasps and covers her mouth*)
Dolly: [voiceover] And then, Dakota realized what the wise old Oracle was trying to teach her.
"Dakota": Ohh. Everyone gets sick sometimes, not just Bumpy.
[Cut to the hospital.]
Dolly: [voiceover] Being sick is just a part of life.
Darrow: (*he sniffles*)
[Cut to the story, to Dolly's bed. She pats Evan' head and Evan plays with her hair. Faith is at the window, holding up the night drawing.]
Dolly: [voiceover] So from then on, Dakota stopped thinking that it wasn't fair that Bumpy was sick. She read books to Bumpy, did coloring, and watched cartoons together.
[As Dolly narrates, the scenes change to what she was describing with Evan complying in each shot. We then cut to Dolly's bed again as she "wakes up".]
Dolly: [voiceover] Until one morning, she awoke to find Bumpy all better!
Evan: (*he laughs happily as he's thrown on the bed*)
[Cut to the hospital. The three all cheer for Bumpy.]
Pearl: (*she squeals*)
[The scene cuts to the front of the house. Everyone in the video is lined up, from left to right: Charlie, Dylan, Celeste, Lips, Duncan, Dolly, Evan, and Faith. Dolly is holding Evan. Most of the characters link hands, hold them high and then bow. Dolly and Faith can't because Dolly's hands are full and Faith is too short. They half-bow instead. Everyone but Dolly and Evan wave.]
Dolly: [voiceover] The end.
All: See you tomorrow, Pearl!
[Evan squirms free of Dolly's hold and bites Lips on the ankle.]
Lips: (*he falls over and struggles free for a moment*) EVAN!!!
[Everyone but Dolly and Faith starts to laugh. Dolly looks worried and takes a step back, knocking Faith's hat over her eyes. Faith stumbles around blindly as Duncan grabs Evan, trying to pull him off Lips. Faith stumbles into Dolly and falls down.]
Lips: Ow! Ow!
Duncan: Careful, Evan, he's got hair nits!
[Cut to the hospital. Darrow Pearl, and the nurse are all laughing.]
Pearl: Again!
[The episode ends]
