Peter kept comparing what they had experienced the last time to what was currently happening.

Inside Alex's head

Wow, Peter's abilities are awesome. I feel as if I took an hour nap. It's not enough to get back out there in case we have to travel far but it's impressive. It would be nice if I had some food or water to get back to full strength. The faster, the better. We need to get back to looking for the others. They could be anywhere and the other places are probably another hour or two of travelling too. I can't keep floating around carrying the both of us. It's annoying. I hope we find them soon. Or at least some of them. That'll bring us one step closer. I feel they're not too far considering this place is meant to be a game. If we're supposed to run into others, we have to be close by now. I should sleep a little. It'll help me get my energy back sooner. Peter can wake me up if something happens. He looks like he's going to stay awake.

Alex slowly dozed off.

When she woke up about ten minutes later, nearly all of Alex's energy had returned. Alex transported them from the mountain's edge and back into the sky. She and Peter decided to continue travelling in the same direction as before. However, they moved at a different angle to get a better view of the area currently behind them in case the others were there. On the way, they found a figure lying in the snow. It appeared to be green. As Alex approached the body, they saw that it lay with its limbs spread apart and was covered in green slime.
Alex commented, "I think it's safe to assume they're not breathing."
"Do you think it's someone we know?" asked Peter worried.
"No."
"How can you be sure?"
"Because I believe they're fine."
"You can't know that. We need to check the body."
"I'm not touching it." replied Alex getting closer to the ground.
"Can't you just flick the slime off?"
"I'm not sure but look at their feet. It can't be one of them. Whoever this is has rectangular feet and no toes."
"Okay. That's good... wait, what if it just looks rectangular? What if one of us doesn't have toes?"
"We all have our toes. Don't worry. It's not one of your sisters or Liz or Rose."
"Okay. Good. Let's keep going. Poor guy." Peter tried to not think about the being's death too much.
Alex brought them back higher into the air.

Five minutes later, they hit an invisible wall.
Irritated, Alex commented, "Not again."
"This is good news, isn't it? It means that the region isn't much wider so we probably didn't miss the others before. We would have been high enough to see them or be seen."
"You're right, it might be a good sign after all. Annoying but good."
"What do we do now?"
"We follow the wall. It has to lead somewhere out of here."
They continued for another ten minutes before a body of water came into view. Alex rose them a little more to see where the water ended. It seemed endless. They followed the coast to the water for thirty minutes, then stopped. They were at a corner of their terrain. From there, Alex saw another landmass in the distance slightly to their left.
Peter saw it too. He became excited. "Finally! We're bound to find some of the others there!" exclaimed Peter.
"I hope so. I also hope it doesn't take too long to get across."
"I can help. I'll keep your energy up. It won't be like before because you're using your powers at the same time but it should make things easier."
Alex replied, "Okay, let's do this."
Alex pushed the two of them above the water's strong waves.

Gwen and Liz continued their search in the desert after resting for about ten minutes after the shape-shifter attack. Neither of them could sleep after the attack but they managed to relax and regain some energy. They didn't know in which direction to go. Every direction seemed to lead to nothing.
"Should we keep going in the same direction as last time?" asked Gwen.
"I don't want to retrace our steps so the opposite direction is out. Maybe if we go this way but to the right to make it different." Liz pointed in a direction.
"Sure."
